AW season rewards.

So are season 42 rewards going to be delayed? If so do I have to wait before switching to new alliance to claim rewards? @Kabam Miike

Always wait to change alliances until after rewards are claimed.

Delay seems likely with the team needing to deduct points from war 9 and send out rewards for tier +1

They already communicated that rewards will be delayed by as much as a week. And yes, you have to stay in your alliance until they’re distributed or you will forfeit them.
