I hope it gets good reviews, but the trailer does not excite me. Looks better than the two Venom movies, I guess.

Sony knocked it out of the park with the two animated Spiderverse movies, but their live action movies haven't been good for a while. (I consider Tom Holland's movies Marvel flicks.)

I found it funny he got bitten by a lion. But no, that is not how he got his powers. In the amazing spider man comic (1962) it's said that he possess undreamed of strength and speed which he obtained by drinking a secret potion stolen from the witch-doctor of a hidden African tribe.

He didn't get his powers from a lion's bite in the comics. He got them from potions. Maybe they wanted to parallel Spiderman and the radioactive spider idea? It feels like Morbius again, with the way the CGI looked and the way he moves. Hope that gets cleaned up before release.

I get that they are trying to go anti-hero here, but that's part of Sony's problem, and most of the hero movies. Trying to add way too much humor/relatability to get us to like them instead of their purpose/big idea. They need to go the Thanos route. He wasn't likable, did deplorable things, but the purple guy was right. Let's see how this plays out. (Also curious to see the red label trailer).

Not sure worldwide, but in my country ppl are praising the trailer, mostly cause of the gore violence, but im sensing Morbius/Venom vibes.. smells like a flop.

They should have kept ATJ as Quicksilver, i just dont see him as Kraven, also dont like the changes they made to his story. He should be in a Spiderman movie, not his own. I mean even Thanos didnt need one, and he killed it in IW.

Kraven is not one of the Spider-Man related characters that Sony has the rights to that needs or deserves his own solo movie. He should be the villain in a Spider-Man movie, or he should be Squirrel Girl's pal in her movie. End of.

Black Cat could work in a solo non-Spider-Man movie (read her recent solo series for why)

Silver Sable most definitely could work, but would basically amount to a female led action movie with someone in a silver catsuit unless it was in the MCU and had access to their fictional nations.

Spiderwoman should be in the MCU.

Saw the trailer few days ago, did not spark that much interest. Here are my biggest critiques:

That is not how he got his powers, (couldn't remember how exactly, but lion blood was not the way)
Couldn't find another actor to play his dad? Why does he need a dad/family?
He didn't look like he was hunting (like with guns, traps, lures, and basic hunting equipment), he was just tearing people faces off
You could name the movie "Sabretooth" and there will be no difference in plot and fighting style
The chase scenes with him pouncing off of walls looked like Sabretooth just chasing Cyclops in X-Men Origins

literally gives off morbius 2 vibes.. sony is trying way to hard, and they have such great material and actors. just cant get that connection. like even venom 2 was as impactful as the first one and it had carnage in it like come on now.

I think for the sake of the whole marvel universe I’m glad the ‘spider verse’ is owned by Sony. I was said Disney took over Fox and grabbed the X-men franchise.

So what Kraven is rated R - better than watching some toned down PG Marvel movie.

That’s why Netflix Dare Devil and Punisher did so well while the Disney+ themed stuff (other than Loki) were Meh

And thankfully Deadpool 3 will be produced under the Fox brand…imagine PG version of Deadpool!

For example: They had to waste Riot and Carnage for Venom. Create that Prince Daemon Vampire to match Morbius (im sorry but idk that dude from comics, so pardon if im wrong). And now.. daddy issues for Kraven.. or pehaps a grudgematch with Rhyno? idk.

Your mostly right, except for the ms marvel bit. She was always originally intended to be a mutant but before her first appearance marvel changed their minds and made her an inhuman to help inhuman comic book sales. That's why they are changing her back to mutant now.
