EQ and SQ run to almost mid-July?

I missed this explanation, if there was one, but in game says 20 days left for both, and today is June 22. Curious as to why there is an extra week tagged on…

Summer break for the team? 8.3 Beta? July 4 secret event? Who knows…

It’s not unusual. They need to run four 5-week events through the year since they operate on a 52-week calendar (and not monthly) and run 12 events rather than 13. It all works out at the end of the year.

Maybe that's why they tried to slow down the sq with the timer, but I assume most ppl have already finished it by now lol (atleast I have xD). I've got almost nothing to do for a while now so I might actually try 100%ing the eq this time.

And they made last "month" 5 weeks too.

It's obvious that they are purposely doing less now. Perhaps it's to focus on other things, but it's also happening with 8.3.

It is odd that they are doing two 5-week events in a row, but I’ve got a good theory and it’s mostly around AW.

The new AW comes back online July 12, the same day the next event starts. I am guessing that they pushed it back the extra week (which will still even out at the end of the year) to give them some extra peace while they work on building the new AW instead of having to work on it while new bugs/issues get introduced from the next update. They’re gonna have bugs with AW when it launches I’m sure, but this lets them keep a one-track focus for a bit longer.

The SQ was built out the way it was so that players that missed a day would be able to catch up instead of missing calendar items. The timer makes sense because every other SQ has launch in stages over the month whether it’s entry gained through a calendar, a daily challenge, or a new quest every week. They always try to space it for the entire month.
