Why do sliver gold and plat require more tokens then diamond in BGS

It’s been awhile but I hopped into BGS today and was running through. I like that wins now grant 2 tokens. Why though does diamond require less wins than gold or plat per tier?

Once you get to Diamond it goes back to one medal per win
