Solo Crystal Shards

I think the Solo Crystal Shards are one of the most outdated things in this game. And Kabam gives them away in every single event but for what?? Those crystals are completely useless. I normally use some to get 2* and 3* sig stones just because I like to have my two and three stars full ranked up but it is not worth it.

What would you guys say will be the best buff option for these crystals?
