New War Placement phase system without locked in masteries is really disappointing

I was really hoping for this. If our defense stays as is why can’t the masteries applied on war 1 persist throughout the season at least?

That isn't the issue. It's having to change them at a certain point. And the argument people will make is a fallacy. It isn't as simple as change them when you log out. Life doesn't work like that. There is no way to tell when you can or can't log in for a lot of people.

Not to mention suicides are a small part of alliance war defense. In top alliances depending on your defense assignment you may be required to run md, not run willpower, run inequity all kinds of scenarios.

It just isn't a well thought out plan by kabaam. It would be much better received if you could pay units to lock them for the season. Pay 2000 and your defense masteries lock for the season for instance.

Exactly. The window we have to change them seems to be really small as well.
