Kitty Pryde phase or description bug

So when Kitty dashes forwards when she is close to an opponent or is phased, her phase does not not trigger/retrigger. Is this a bug with her phasing or her description, or am I just missing something?

There's certain amount of distance that has to be covered for the game to differentiate between an actual forward dash and a medium attack up close. What you're likely experiencing is the dash didn't cover enough ground so the game recognises it as a regular medium attack up close thus phase didn't trigger.
