Kabam, please have an option to permanently turn off emoticons in battlegrounds

I may be an older player but its really annoying to see player emote with a happy emote when they win. Putting a smiling emote there after you win is the same as being a sore loser. And it’s really frustrating to see when your already frustrated with the game. It’s also frustrating to need to turn them off every single match.

All they have to do is to change the default so that it's permanently hidden until manually changed. If you want to send or see emojis you will have to tap twice on every single match to do so.

Sounds fair to me.

As annoying as the feature is, they won’t make it easy to turn it off when they’re selling emotes.

This is true, at least in my experience. The problem is that stopping them being shown by default immediately negates the reason for them existing, and so people buying them.

I'd guess they are pretty low hanging fruit as far as development effort is concerned, so pay back the effort to make them pretty quickly. I'm not surprised that they won't be removed, for that reason.

I can see why others like them, but I don't personally. I know why they are there, and if it's a fun game mode with no downsides I can see how they could be more liked. But not for me in BG.

I’ll probably get drilled for this but can’t you just ignore them? Why do you have to give them context? I don’t play BGs all that much but when I’ve been on the receiver end of an emote, I did not waste time imagining my opponent sitting on a chair, stroking a cat and belting out an evil laugh.

I usually use cap emote when the opponent plays a good round or when it's a close match, doesn't matter win or loss

Glad I snuck into GC last time. The Captain America emote is the only one I use. Very classy and respectful. Like shaking hands after a game. The rest are frankly petulant and annoying .

Kabam should make a Cap- like emote available to people who can’t make GC.

Always when i want to use those emote I feel that I make fun of my opponent. Those emote are not developed/engineered well, they catch only negativ emotions.

And I will never never never never never buy emotes for units, I mean what the fudge?

society is such that you can't expect people to be respectful humans especially in gaming. it's the equivalent of tbagging.

i've experienced maybe 1 or 2 spams of emotes but i combat that by winning most of the times LOL. and even in that i always throw up the Cap one or the Jubilee one.

Not all the time. A lot of the time myself and the person I’m against use the captain America saluting after a quick/ good fight or at the end of the fights are done. That’s just my experience I know others have a lot worse than that.

Same honestly. I use them to communicate, somewhat. In as much as Emotes can communicate. Every once in a while you'll get someone spamming Loki, but that shows a level of maturity.

muting the opponent is the first thing I do when the ban phase ends lol
it's annoying there's not one "disable" emotes button but I don't think there ever will be one... so you just need to get used to muting people every fight

How about a Guardian emote giving a big thumbs up/clap on the shoulder, like in his victory animation?

That would be very Kabam, and just right for Guardian.

Why are people still anti-relic? Strikers are amazing and provide so many opportunities for champs to get an in. They also help you control rock stacks or tactical charges way better. There are also relics like the crit one that make some champs way better

I hate the emotes. Only ever see the stupid laughing one if I get wrecked. Most people would class this as a form of cyber bullying and companies should look to find a way to stop it for those who don’t want to be subjected to it. Like I don’t know, a permanent mute button.
