will the 40 minute crash bug ever get fixed?

when the game runs for ~40min straight, it always crashes and exits the app. been like this for almost two years now. will this ever get fixed? i remember hearing about a memory leak patch but what happened? is this still being addressed?

Does this only happen in certain content? I remember it crashing when I did a legends run/monthly EQ but it never crashed when I run arena.

I never realized that happens on a 40-minute timer. This happens to me too. I thought it was just me. I'm not on forums enough to say for sure, but I've never heard anyone make this complaint. I hope this gets fixed in the future. The other thing I wind up doing often is closing out of the game, waiting 30 seconds, then going back in. This helps cool down my phone. Does anyone else do that?

Yep, I've learned to see the lag before and just reset the game in advance.

I start to see lag after playing for a bit. It probably is around the 30-40 minutes of playing non-stop. I don’t play for long stretches straight very often lately though.

I haven’t had it totally close on me for a while but animation heavy fights definitely noticeably slow down (like Apocalypse specials) after a while and restarting tends to help. If you search memory leak it’s come up plenty of times on here before. I don’t know what the status is for fixing it though. For now I just restart once I notice things start to slow down and it seems to work.

not sure but i think it was @DragonMCOC @Dragonfei that found out it's on a 38 minute timer way back when it started happening 1-2 year ago. dragon can you verify?

Same. The lag starts to kick in for me after ~8 arena rounds or 2 path quests, which equates to roughly 20 minutes

The game used to crash for me on iPhone 7 every 40 minutes and same with iPad mini 4. It was fixed when I got myself iPhone 13 ProMax. This showed that this was device limitation due to heavy graphic rendering and so on what a device can handle.

It’s probably a RAM overload issue.
Depending on the device’s RAM capacity game crashes periodically.
I play on two devices, one is 2GB RAM and the other is 4GB.
The small device starts lagging and then crashing every ~7-8 arena rounds or couple of EQ paths, but the bigger device can run over 20 arena rounds and several EQ paths till it starts to get slower and laggy and need to reboot the game.
To be honest this issue is around for years, if not since the game’s inception.
A performance mode would be great at this point, but I don’t see that happening, mainly due to CCP and YT videos.
It would hurt the game’s image and wouldn’t help luring new players into the game.
