Kabam should take a break on their release schedule

FunnyDudeFunnyDude Member Posts: 571 ★★★★
I believe Kabam has the good will and wants to release features on time, but the reality is a lot of things are not going right.
I think Kabam should just take a break on their release schedule and try to fix things as much as possible instead of keeping adding new things, make some slightly adjustment to the economy system. I'm just trying to provide some suggestions on how to keep players busy for a few weeks:
- Delay the war season for another 2-3 weeks, fix it and test it please
- Improve the AQ store, this is low hanging fruit.
- launch a temporary BG season (2 weeks, the same nodes) with good rewards
- send another ticket for gauntlet and increase the rewards.
- launch a special arena event and give some special rewards.

You want them to take a break on their release schedule and you're asking for more content to be released? All I see here is you begging for "better" rewards.

Aside from that, the content designers aren't the ones tasked to fix bugs.

sounds like you have no idea about difference between "feature" and "temporary content", "fix" and "workaround", "solution" and "low hanging fruit".
I'm not begging anything, this is a game and I paid for it, so I want it to be in good shape instead of a mess. I'm giving suggestions, what did you do?
Except everything you asked for was in complete contradiction to taking a break on a release schedule. So before you start throwing accusations around, take a look in the mirror and re read what you wrote.
looks like you have no idea about how to maintain or design anything, your little brain has no clue about constructive suggestion.

    I agree.

They should take a break from releasing side quests and new characters for 2 months. Assuming this is not possible in August, which is probably already in planning stage, they can start from September.

September: Incursions update. Incorporate the side quest in incursions where you can play for the new format and additional rewards. Instead of new champs, focus on buffing old ones. If need be, can focus on champs that would be incursion ready - regen, purify, immortality, synergy, ability accuracy reduction. Suggestions - Psycho man, Black Widow and Groot

October: AQ update. Again Incorporate a new map for side quests only for the month and additional rewards. Buff champs that improve existing synergies. Suggestions - Beast, Captain America and Cyclops.

They can add a month or two and continue the trend. If they link side quest to existing updated content, it still works. Buffed champs can be alternates to new champs for a couple of months. They can also increase the chances of getting those buffed champs with selectors in the "side quest" prize shops.

We are reaching a point where old content is getting obsolete and people are only interested in what is new. It is clogging the crystals and making the RNG factor worse in the game. Rather an upgrade on older stuff.

I don’t think new champs are the problem. It is the new mechanics that gets rolled out and not tested properly. There’s so many things that is not running as smoothly as we will like plus some recent boo boos that made the player base more annoyed than usual.
I think OP is saying that we should slow our roll and have old issues fix, currently issues patched and future content properly vetted and tested before we can maximise our enjoyment.
I know it is great to have new incursion, AW and more to come but it will not be as enjoyable if they are plagued with bugs and other problems.

Don't release new characters? Income drops. Ain't happening.

BTW they have been releasing less. The previous 2 eq/sq were 5 weeks long.

Marvel contest of champions is a free game. You chose to spend money on virtual items. Game did not force you.
if you are ok with the current situation, then you don't have to read the post at all.

Clearly your the one who doesn't know what they're talking about. You say stop the release schedule and then proceed to tell them all the things you want released. Genius.
do you understand the different between "reuse content" and "release new content"?

So you want them to reuse old content, the same content you're complaining about that's bugged, for new content so they can work on old bugged content....mmmk.

Not everything is broken, as I said in one of my reply, reuse STABLE content, fix bugs and stop releasing new content.
    Not clear?

Which content was stable exactly? BG's isn't stable and you want a special thing for that.
Arena wasn't stable and is quite possible the most boring thing on the face of the earth.
Last time they tried to do something with Gauntlet, they had to take it down for months.

So what exactly is stable content for you?

Characters are planned at least 8 months to a year in advance. They know exactly what champs they are releasing up to May of next year. This also includes EQ content.

They have different teams working in different aspects of the game. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times they pulled EVERYONE from all departments to fix a major issue. But outside of those different departments work on different things.

You claim you have knowledge of how development works. But from your posts it doesn’t seem like it.

You're asking for things that contradict one another.

If you're asking to delay the release of any new content to ensure that there's no bugs, but also want a special side quest in the interim, you're asking for new content in the place of new content.

Contrary to a lot of people's beliefs, content and champions aren't just build the day before. That takes weeks if not months and even if they wanted to put a pause on everything and not do anything until they can focus on fixing the bugs, they can't. They don't own the characters, you don't own the characters, ultimately we are all leasing them because they have bosses they answer to and those bosses are NetMarble and more importantly Marvel Comics, which means they're the ones that call the Final Shots on when and if a champion can be released and that includes any special tie-ins to feature films.

And in regards to all the stores being updated, they already announced on the last live stream that all the stores are going to be updated but again, that takes time. The problem is people believe that building a video game is like connecting Duplo blocks.

Ok so you obviously still don't understand how this works then. Kabam doesn't "reuse" old content. It's still new content even if it "looks" the same.

What interview? Why would I read an old interview with an old director? Was this from 2015?
