Arena Compensation Questions

1) I was subscribed to Sigil during this time period but did not renew. Is it going to be turned back on for folks in my situation?

2) “and were affected by this issue” - what way? I grinded some milestones but never had this bug occur. Why? I was on the forums and saw the bug. So I made sure to turn off arena express mode. Does this mean I am not eligible for the compensation? It certainly affected how I played the game because I didn’t grind arenas as much.

This is the problem with only giving compensation to players “affected.” It doesn’t take into account change in behaviors because a mode was bugged. I spent more time story content and incursions instead of the frustrations of a bugged mode.

I avoided arena altogether because of the bug.

This is another example of Kabam making it harder on themselves than it needed to be.

They’ve got to spend time figuring out who played arena in that time. On top of that they are frustrating players who avoided the bugged content by assuming their playing experience wasn’t impacted and excluding them from compensation.

Whatever compensation was decided on would never be enough for some folks but now you’ve added another reason for players to feel slighted when you didn’t need to exclude anyone.

They should really base the compensation on players that played in the last arena before the bug entered the game. That would give a clearer picture of who was actually impacted, since plenty of players probably skipped those rounds altogether when they heard about the bug.

Or just give it to everyone instead of figuring any of that out. The compensation package isn’t huge. Targeted compensation makes sense in some cases but not when an entire game mode is as broken as arena was.

Honestly, this makes the most sense. It speeds up the compensation and it’s anything but game breaking. Also potentially garners some goodwill among the player base.

You SHOULD get the extra days, even if you are no longer subscribed. I say "should", because we've never done this before. We'll be testing that soon.

Anybody that attempted the Arena will be getting this compensation.

I generally do some arena to get units, but I didn’t try because express mode was down and I hate playing the mode the normal way. Would I be eligible for the compensation even though I wasn’t exactly directly affected by it?

Miike said in the post you are replying to that anyone who attempted arena during the time period there was an issue will receive the compensation. If you didn’t attempt arena at all, then you will not get the compensation. They should’ve based the compensation on players that played in the last round prior to the issue starting as that would be a more accurate pool of who regularly plays arena. You’re definitely not the only one that is going to get nothing because you didn’t bother to play a bugged game mode.

I still think it seems silly to encourage people to play bugged content otherwise they’ll miss out on compensation down the road.

People that exploited the mythic crystals seem to still have the hugely inflated rosters for a week now. People that ran every path in the side quest seemingly get to keep the extra awakening gem and other rewards. And now, if you didn’t try to play the mode that was announced to be bugged, you don’t get compensation for it.

Should we not get the units, shards, BC etc as the equivalent to the milestones? What we are getting is like a 5th of what we could have grinded.
