Let’s talk about 7* Gorr

So out of the 7 stars , I’m not seeing Gorr get as much recognition as he should, and in some cases even seeing some call him “mid”.

I knew he was an offensive nuke, or rather a bomb for most content, but I had my doubts for him in BG’s.

I thought that given how his damage is obtained, it’d be too long of a rampup for BG’s and thus impractical for there.

Then I thought of possibly keeping him in my card for defensive purposes, but then realized he just has too much counters, as aside from most mystics, one can just nuke him down real quickly using AA , KP, or CGR, so I just kept him out of the card altogether.

However this last season, I thought of giving him a try since the bleed node would give him regens. To my surprise, he was actually viable and putting up close to 50k scores. One of the prominent matchups was even against a thing. That’s right he works on thing, as the bleeds inflicted lower his rock stacks and the sp3 completely ignores the protection.

What are you thoughts on him? Do you own one? Use him in BGs? Would like to see any screenshots of him on offense or defense in BG’s.

Also, how do you think he compares to Gamora and Venom? Would you r2 him over them?

Personally, I think he’s far more “future proof” than those 2 as eventually venom and gamora will begin to phase out, the same way their 6*’s have. The main thing they have going for them at the moment over Gorr is their ability to finish fights fast in BG’s.

He was my 4th and most recent rank 3. I throw him down on defense first every single round of BGs unless they've got AA. I've seen players lose match after match with some of the best Gorr counters and I honestly don't understand it, but it works. Highly recommend.

I draft mine if the opponent has a peni for sure, as far as for defense, I save him for round 3, never play him as defender if they have kingpin or a mystic who can nullify, diablo and kingpin are my go to counters for him when someone else plays him.

I don't know about him in BGs, but I once got 8-9 kills from him in AW once on node 41.

This is what i was hoping to hear more from when i made the thread, is specifically user experiences in BGs for offense and defense. But it seems like some say hes a menace for defense whereas others say he’s got a ton of counters.

What would’ve made him specifically be good/faster this bleed meta, doesnt that just make him regen? Or does it also inflict debuffs on them when he bleeds

My first two 7* crystals were Gorr. At first, I was very disappointed, but after I started playing with him I became happier and happier with my pull. He has a butt ton of utility and dmg, he *can* be a really good defender, and he’s just super incredibly reliable on attack

Both things can be true, with out someone who counters him, he is a difficult kill, but his counters just melt him.

It's all part of the greater game, not only do they have to draft one of those counters, they then have to save them until you put him on defense, which can keep them from using them on other matches or as defenders themselves. And he can be a good counter for peni or most robots. You can't just say I will get him and use him for this, because who else you draft, who they draft, the order you and they play them as defenders all control how well you do

@Ortoun so what do you think about him for offense overall? Im not sure if there was something enhancing his damage or giving me more debuffs last season on sharpened claws , but i was ending fights in one sp3. Some screenshots shown in original post. Was that only the case cause of the meta?

I like him for offense, but he usually isn't the best option on attack for most situations. He was great with sharpened claws because you could get tons of healing just by blocking some hits, so you could play a little more aggressively and not worry as much, but it shouldn't have made his damage higher. His sp3 can be pretty beastly with enough damaging debuffs on the opponent

I’ve been putting KG in my card lately as hes decent for defense, and kills robots pretty fast. Im thinking Gorr should kill the robots even faster and additionally be a better defender than KG? Though KG would have less counters. Debating if i should replace KG for Gorr, he’s unduped though so won’t be able to counter Peni

He doesn't counter quite as well undupped, but he triggers a regen everything he gets power burned, so it actually works out fairly well.

Unless they can strip all his buffs on initial contact or play as though he's unblockable, he can be a tricky defender for some mystics, as he can inflict his debuffs through block, if he builds enough buffs.

I really like him and have him as a 7* and would use him all the time
...but .... I run suicides all the time, so yes never going to see use for me outside of defence and arena ☹️
