android nexus 6p log in problem

i have a nexus 6p, android version 8.0.0.
every time i run the game after the log in it starts to download and at some point the download gets stuck.
i tried to reinstall and that didn't help.
i can't play the game.

please help.

Bud I keep saying this lag isn't server based it's the game getting bloated right along with every other phone app. We are seeing the same thing happen with phone apps as we have for decades with pc programs, every release is larger and takes more ram, all of them are so important they can't be shut off they have to "sleep" so they open 1.3 seconds faster! So open your apps, shut some of them off, clear your phones ran and then try. BLOATED! BLOATED! Ready my lips! Lag = bloated! Bloated =lag!

just an update, it seems that when only wi fi or celluar is enabled then the download after the log in proceeds ok, only when both are active the download gets stuck.
