Double track event booster

Not sure I understand this.
Why give us an item which lets us skip ahead, and then put a timer on the same thing to stop us skipping ahead?

Originally, the idea of the booster was to allow players to purchase days when they missed days. And then because people bought the boosters but then didn't need them, people felt those were wasted so Kabam added days to the end of the calendar, so if you bought boosters but didn't need them, you'd get some additional rewards past the normal end of the event. And then, of course, people started buying the boosters specifically to get those rewards, and they became a source of more rewards. But that was not the original intent. It was to give players an option to spend a little money to make up for lost days.
Either way, it was never intended to be a "skip ahead" benefit. Just a "get more days without having to do the objectives" benefit.
