Not sure I understand this.

Why give us an item which lets us skip ahead, and then put a timer on the same thing to stop us skipping ahead?

To get the rewards past the expiration of the calendar

The booster gives you the next few days immediately so that you're working ahead of schedule. The event still finishes at the same time but by skipping ahead a few days (and getting those rewards immediately) you then get later days' rewards

That item is not there to let you skip ahead. That item is there to let you gain credit for more days. Every day on the calendar isn't an automatic reward. You actually have to log in and do an objective to earn one of those rewards. You're only allowed to see two objectives at a time, so if you fall behind and don't log in for a few days, you'll start missing rewards. Especially the better ones at the end.

Originally, the idea of the booster was to allow players to purchase days when they missed days. And then because people bought the boosters but then didn't need them, people felt those were wasted so Kabam added days to the end of the calendar, so if you bought boosters but didn't need them, you'd get some additional rewards past the normal end of the event. And then, of course, people started buying the boosters specifically to get those rewards, and they became a source of more rewards. But that was not the original intent. It was to give players an option to spend a little money to make up for lost days.

Either way, it was never intended to be a "skip ahead" benefit. Just a "get more days without having to do the objectives" benefit.

But wouldn't it be easier to just make the calendar three days longer with no boosters?
