To Paragon or not to Paragon

Hey guys!
So I have a conundrum and would like to hear yall's opinions. I can become paragon right now because I just recently went through act 8 and I have 2 candidates already (Valk and Spidey Supreme). I would have done the deed already, but I really like Dani and most others in the next featured pool, so I want to save the rank up mats for them instead.
But here comes the issue.
The DLX event will come on Wednesday (before the featured) and if you didn't know, it is possible for a paragon to obtain a 7* entirely for free (maybe not free, prob some revives) but you have to be paragon at the start of the event to get one.

What would you do in my situation? Would you wait to r4 until the featured and get thronebreaker rewards during the event, or would you just r4 now and get a 7 star?

I say go for Paragon now

Rank up materials come much more quickly once Paragon, so I'd say get there ASAP. You'll have enough R4 mats for a new rank-up before you know it.

100% go for Paragon. Remember the featured crystals are still a gamble and as others have said, you will have a much easier time getting r4 mats at the Paragon level

If you do a lot of BGs, 20k BG tokens will get you 1.5 t6b and t3a weekly, and then 3000 glory will get you an additional .75 t6b and t3a, so you can almost get a r4 weekly as a paragon if you so desire

Thanks for the offer but I like ranking up champs without much outside interference because I want the rankups to feel authentic to me and my play style/personal preference. (Not that there's anything wrong with asking for rank up help.) The 2nd r4 will most likely be spiderman supreme due to his very unique play style and abilities. I think the 3rd r4 will be Valkyrie because she's just great almost everywhere she goes.
