I recently noticed that he was gaining gamma while immortal. This wasn't the case previously.

    That has definitely always been the case in my experience. It’s the only way you heal to 100% because immortality consumes 15 charges

    Actually when consuming that 15 it would factor that into his healing after. Gaining charge during immortality has NOT always been the case. It is a very welcome buff though :)
