Anything happening with the solo crystal shards

Hey, have I missed any updates on anything happening with the solo crystal shards. I've nearly got 10 million shards but there is practically no point in exchanging them as the vast majority of rewards are useless to me or even more annoying 6* arena crystals that I don't use and can't be sold
