It might be, but Kabam has made other references before. Like Mantis has a synergy called Psycho-Mantis (a metal gear referenced)

Love the theme and purpose of this, makes them effectively "bullet proof" while far away.

Dash back from a projectile special and create enough distance for the buff, have no real fear of being knocked down, even if your timing was off and you don't fully dex.
