Ranking up in BG not working

in Bugs and Known Issues
With the start of the new BG season I got a message on the screen saying complete 0 matches (yes zero. No typo here) to go pick up from my previous rank last season (G1)

So I completed the match and I'm still bronze 3. Why is that Kabam?

    You read it wrong. It's complete 0 matches to get the rewards between bronze 3 and gold 1. It's 0 because you ended in gold 1 so you start back in bronze 3 so you cant get the rewards in the way that everyone who starts higher can. For example everyone who ended in the gc starts in plat 1 and needs to complete 5 matches to get the rewards from bronze 3 to plat 1 and so on. The message is just there because it goes to everyone regardless of where they placed. With the bottom rung having a 0 since there's no gap in the bottom tier and where you start
