If you want to maximize RNG, go for TB arena crystals, if you want to minimize RNG, go the basic ones. The UC ones are a decent in-between

There isn't a "best"... it's the same RNG

It's basically a multiplier for each increased rarity of Chip crystals

2k, 10k, 50k (so what you get is essentially multiplied)

With that said, say you are opening 100k chip

that's 50 regular, 10 and 2

You have a chance to get all gold out of any of the last 2, but are pretty for sure going to get some units out of the regular

it's all proportional but much bigger risk in the expensive crystals

The only real difference is punisher rarity available, but chances of pulling him are still small

Yeah sorry I know it’s just multiplied, but I’ve got over 1mil saved.

So just wondering do I do 500 normal, or the middle one, I’m sure some have saved and done different ones and saved their gains.

I don’t want to do the proper expensive ones though as can just imagine it’s gonna be all gold lol

I would recommend just open up 10 of the TB, see how the RNG gods treat you

If you want to gamble, go for TB crystal, they offer the highest risk but provide the highest reward. The normal basic arena one is the one I find gives out the most consist units for 1 million battlechips. I have bougth 1 million TB in the past and have gotten zero units (very lucky but possible) and have gotten 3k units. Now I play it more safe and for for the basic arena crystal and usually get around 1.5 - 2.3k units.

If you want to wait for @DNA3000 to drop a thesis on the averages and rates of the crystals then i'd definitely do that, but i have a feeling uncollected is the best bet since it's the middleground. Thronebreakers are pretty risky. For example i opened 500k chips yesterday and got only 1 unit drop and it wasnt the jackpot lmao

If you want to wait for DNA3000 to drop a thesis on the averages and rates of the crystals then i'd definitely do that, but i have a feeling uncollected is the best bet since it's the middleground. Thronebreakers are pretty risky. For example i opened 500k chips yesterday and got only 1 unit drop and it wasnt the jackpot lmao

Technically, there is a best crystal: it is the TB crystal.

For Units, every crystal has the same intrinsic odds to drop Units and the same proportional value (relative to the cost of the crystal). So if units are all you care about, every crystal has the same long term value and which one you pick depends on whether you like gambling (go for the TB crystal it will have the highest variability per million BC) or you prefer stability (go for the basic crystal, on average every batch of one million will look more similar than for the other two crystals).

However, over long stretches the TB crystal contains two advantages. First, it has the higher rarity Punisher. You might think that the odds of pulling the top tier Punisher are so low it doesn't matter, but the arena crystals actually contain two Punishers: a top rarity and one that is one rarity lower. So for example the UC Crystal contains a very low chance for a 5* Punisher but also a somewhat higher chance for a 4* Punisher. The TB crystal likewise has a very low chance for a 6* Punisher but also a somewhat higher chance for a 5* Punisher. I opened thousands of UC crystals and only pulled three 4* Punishers. But I've pulled the 5* Punisher five times from the TB crystals. Still no 6* though.

The second advantage is that while the UC crystal is just the basic crystal but with five times larger drops (to balance their five times higher cost) the TB crystal has slight differences due to the fact that scaling the TB crystal to be five times larger than the UC crystal would mean sometimes players would get a sudden drop of 25 energy refills (five times more than the UC crystal drops). That seemed problematic, so the devs juggled the drops a bit so the TB crystal has a higher chance to drop ten rather than the same chance to drop 25. That meant the chance to drop gold became lower (those odds have to come from somewhere) and so the gold drops are scaled up slightly. Due to round off, the TB crystal has a very small advantage over the UC crystal for gold: it drops slightly more gold slightly less often, and this ends up averaging out in the player's favor.

However, you need to open a lot of crystals to have any chance to see it. It is there, though, so if you grind a lot of arena and if you open a lot of arena crystals and if you don't mind having a much wilder swing in results from batch to batch, then the TB crystals offer the best long term value. Otherwise, it kinds of doesn't matter.
