Is Adam Warlock worth r5?

Love playing adam warlock and trying to decide whether to r5 him. Only thing holding me back is that 10% of the time AI doesn't cooperate. If you're on your toes you can deal with it but requires high concentration in case you need to deal with a weird AI. I really like playing him the other 90% of the time, would be interested to hear people's opinions on him in battlegrounds (I would say I can play him fairly well).

Personally I hate how unreliable he is. You need near perfect AI cooperation and if your opponent has a stun or dot on their specials it really sucks. Not to mention if there's unstoppable, evade or miss it completely messes him up.
In matches where he can cook and the opponent plays into him, he's an absolute beast though. So if you like him and can use him I'd say he's worth R5, just not for me.
I end all BG fights with him in less than 30 seconds, (when he doesnt get banned.)
The amount of sub 30 second fights and full yellow bar fights with him is unreal,
Ever since I started using him the amount of times I saw “NO DAMAGE TAKEN” at the end fight screen has increased three trillion fold.
1) He isn't stun immune while in the pod, so some champion specials will be risky to bait with your own sp2.
2) He is nullify, stagger & fateseal immune with his sovereignity buff, but you only gain that buff after the first cycle. See the problem? If you, for some odd reason take him against a mystic, the buffs in his first cycle are still prone to being nullified. Not to mention, he isn't immune to nullify from nodes, so buffet and power snack are going to feast on him.
3) Debuff shruggers/ immune nodes can be a issue for him too. He relies on the taunt and the intimidate debuffs for smoother gameplay, the prior more than the latter. If those get shrugged off after being applied, they don't reapper until the next cycle. So you are stuck dealing with an untaunted opponent. Which certainly is a doable fight, not saying he cannot do the fight, just that the AI will be more of an uncooperative nuisance.
4) Being AI reliant to some degree. This is already talked about a lot, so I won't add anything here.
5) He is prone to glancing and AA reduction too. He does counter AA reduction after getting the sovereignity buff, but that is after you complete one cycle. So for the first cycle, you must suffer through buffs not triggering.
6) There is this weird thing where if your sp2 is blocked (my unblockable buff failed to trigger because of glancing), there is frame or two when the opponent can hit you before you get into the pod. I thought, "I'll just get into the pod with sp2 and tank some hits with the 75% dmg reduction", but I got slapped twice before getting into the damn thing (gap between animation of sp2 ending and pod appearing), losing a big chunk of health.
All that said, I still enjoy the character. But these issues may have knocked him a peg down for me, personally. I'm still deciding my ascension choice between him, fantman and silk though.
That's my roster btw. Its pretty much between Adam (sig200) and CGR for me. I also love my hyperion but I don't think I can r5 him over the other 2.
Another thing I forgot to add is that sp1 stun, it literally does nothing in BGs since everyone is running limber.
That alone makes it an easy pass.
He's not as good as you think.
Here's the thing, Adam was made to counter auto block, that's it, and honestly that's fine but I wish his taunt was at least passive so he could do a few other matchups. Right now, he can't really counter most top defenders, it's wild to me that they decided to not give him some slight tweaks. Yeah yeah sure he can ignore Galan's harvest with his pod and that's cool but I would never use Adam against Galan if I have Wiccan Rintrah or Tigra, and even for defenders with autoblock like Peni or OS I'm better off using Hulkling or Galan cause they're not as risky and they're faster. Adam to me is what Wong is to the mystic class, best way to put it.
