7 for 7 guide and thoughts

Hi guys, I've just completed all 24 quests in the 7 for 7 challenge and I think Kabam nailed it as far as attempting to create the same feel as a new account challenge. I had a ton of fun planning which paths I could take with the champs in my roster as 7 star rosters are fairly small at the moment unless you're a whale. Hence this guide doesn't go over specific paths, as that depend on which champs you have in your roster, rather it's a discussion about which champions I found the most useful and a bit of guide to some of the bosses. Hope it helps!
Overall the only item I used was one revive on the 7.3 kang boss because I didn't bother to watch a video guide on how to fight him as I completely forgot his abilities. It was expiring anyway so no loss, but it did piss me off a little as I wanted to say I did it itemless, but oh well
This is my roster:

Sassy: Great attacker, used him loads. He is so tanky and has amazing regen at low health as I'm lucky enough to have mine sig 40 but also his sp3 is great for regening, and his ruptures can block healing if needed and he has really high sp2 damage. I used him all over for paths and bosses such as 7.1.3 aarkus, 7.1.6 ice phoenix, and he even soloed 7.4 kang!

The trick here is that kang doesn't have high damage so you are free to take hits at low health and regen, also while unstoppable. I also used his sp3 a lot to heal something stupid like 15,000 health each time. As well as this, sassy can power drain when in wrath of tanaraq so when kang got to his sp3 as he wouldnt throw his special and the timer expired, I just threw a special to salvage the fight. Very happy I rank 2ed this beast, has damage mitigation coming out of his ears.
Hulk: Probably the mvp of the run. Has insane stun loop and heal block with despair. Not to mention his amazing damage at r2. He was great for a ton of bosses like 7.2.4 man-thing, 7.3.5 cable, 7.4.4 mojo etc, but even better was his ability to clear paths. He was my most used champion, I think on the team for every single quest.
Guillotine 2099: Didn't use her once. Not too fond of her ramp-up and absolutely hate having to end each fight with a sp3, sometimes this isn't even possible due to the node or defender.
Mangog: Actually took a couple of fights but very rarely used, was occasionally brought in if I had an extra slot on the team as he has a synergy giving hulk a bit more attack. Has a fairly long lasting unstoppable and nice sp2.
Ebony maw: Not used once. Doesn't hit that hard. He can do some cool stuff but his window to get good damage output is very tight for not that much reward.
Sauron: Garbage champion. Tried to bring him in to do a mutant lane but he couldn't even do that and I just killed him as he was taking absolutely ages and his damage is trash. Urgently needs a buff.
Falcon: A very specialised champ. Did great against the 7.2.5 electro luke and also good for evade opponents and mix master lanes. Overall I didn't use him too much, but when I did need him, he always pulled through, even unduped at r1.
Storm pyramid: Again, I used this champ only occasionally but when I needed her she did an admirable job. Act 7 has a good few prowess lanes and mutant or special lanes which she was good for and any champ who shrugged stuns, where she can make them passive which is nice.
Mantis: I actually really like this champ but I didn't use her at all. I think she could have done some stuff but I just didn't feel I needed to put her on the team above the other champs I used, she is a battlegrounds monster tho, and I'm sure she would tear up power shield, flare or blaze lanes, but they are easy enough nodes anyway.
Venom the duck: Obviously never used, pretty much unanimously agreed that he's the worst 7 star champ.
War machine: A big surprise. I like war machine but he was able to cover so much more ground than I expected him to. He has his cleanse, great block proficiency and armour up buff, can remove prowess and inflict lots of debuffs and armour break and just has really high damage after using an sp2 or two. He was used heavily on an assortment of paths, strong against mutants in classic tech fashion and he even got the gwenmaster down to 22% on my first try even though I didn't play that great.
Gamora: Amazing damage dealer, I used her a bunch throughout, mainly for path clearance but also for a few bosses like 7.4.1 darkhawk. Basically when she works, she really works and makes short work of 500k health. Her buffs come in handy for nodes which reduce damage without buffs and sometimes you need to dex with a fury to gain prowess and deal damage etc. Also a big fan of her armour breaks on sp2 and her ability to ignore miss with enough buffs which came in handy from time to time such as against mysterio.
Titania: Another great champion. She has great utility with her unblockable, unstoppable and indestructible, and I was able to intercept easily when needed, or tank special 3s, ignore buff penalising nodes and put a ton of debuffs on opponents if need be. She turned out to be a really solid path clearer where I needed her and also did some good stuff against bosses like 7.3.4 sorcerer supreme. Would have used her more if I didn't have hulk as he was able to cover a decent amount of the same fights, so I often bought titania as backup without even needing to use her.
Hawkeye: The biggest surprise by far. Kabam were so close with his buff, all he needed was bit more damage and he would be a lot more viable. He has power drain which came in super handy, nice bleed effects and enough debuffs to prevent healing with despair, as well as a slow on heavy and more. He came in very handy on paths with annoying defenders like a power gaining doom, who obviously has all his crit resistance but hawkeye was able to shut him down nicely. I also have a screenshot of him demolishing 7.4.5 mr negative boss:

Overall his utility is really nice but he fights did take a bit long. This is perfectly fine for challenges like this, but his low damage puts him at a bit of a disadvantage and people will just look past him and use a higher damage dealer and probably just sacrifice some of the utility. I do run 5/5 deep wounds tho so I was able to use him and not feel his lack of damage too much. I got much better at perfect releases from practise as I went deeper into the challenge and that really makes a difference to stuff like his power control or damage. I look forward to using him in more questing content.
Venom: An absolute beast. Really enjoy playing venom, especially as I have a 6 star venom relic and run max deep wounds. I used him a lot and he's a solid option for the 7.3 kang as well as a bunch of other bosses like 7.3.3 stealthy. I love how he just turns of all spiderverse heroes evades and he has a lot of buffs and debuffs which synergies well with the act 7 nodes and he was a very effective path clearer. Also like his om nom nullify and armour break which come in handy.
Overseer: Actually got him towards the end of this challenge from the 7 star shards I was able to gain, so he never actually made it onto my deck as I'm not too familiar with him. However, I do recall him needing his dupe, so I look forward to awakening him as he is a great champion.
As far as the rewards go, they were ok, but I feel they could have been a bit better. Some more 7 star shards or would have been appreciated, but I did like the 5k titan shards and maybe some more gold along with some rank up materials and relic shards or alloys would also have been nice as it was a long challenge, but it was very fun so hopefully kabam come up with a similar challenge for act 8 in the future with increased rewards. This challenge did remind me of the earlier times playing my account when it was underdeveloped in story content and variant, so I think it was definitely a huge success from my perspective at least, but I do acknowledge I do have some great 7 stars that I was lucky to pull.
TLDR:
MVP - Hulk
Frequently used - Sassy, war machine, gamora, hawkeye, venom
Specialised use or backup - Titania, storm x, falcon

I particularly liked the perspective on different champions who may not be widely considered 'the best' pulls, like War Machine and Gamora. I've felt for a long time that War Machine is underappreciated as he's deceptively simple; but can cover a lot of ground with careful gameplay.
My experience in 7.1 alone suggests Gamora, Chavez and Shuri are almost by themselves sufficient to run whole lanes in that chapter. Looking forward to finishing 7.2 and Gwenmaster over the weekend and would welcome any advice or tips for that segment of the 747 quest.
Thanks and congrats!

Only have 1 r2 right now, Chavez. So I'll probably make a team with her, Wiccan, Vision Aarkus (heard he does well?), Elsa, and either Joe Fixit/IMIW/Sunspot for the last champ.
I'm honestly debating on just waiting until next week when I get Morbius, since I'll take him straight to r2 and the extra power of another r2 will probably be beneficial.
7.2.1: Shuri a terrific choice for the Rise Above/Clapback lane. Used Black Cat for Moleman but really not a hard boss if you play around the Unstoppable buff.
7.2.2: Chavez obliterated the Wax On Wax Off lane. Tigra boss 90% down with only Venom parry-heavies.
7.2.3: Stacking Power nice for for buff champs like Venom or Gamora (Surfer too). Selected VtD boss for crit nodes and used Gamora.
7.2.4: Went Deep Impact with Cosmics Gamora and Venom and Mystic Chavez. Most fights can be handled without using the node but class disadvantage important here. Took ManThing Flare boss by committee with team. Silk finished without having to use Overseer.
7.2.5: Used mostly Venom and Cat on stun/bleed node (try to parry a lot and hit while stunned). Anyone who bleeds on basic hits should work here. PlatPool boss super easy with debuff heavy champs. Silk cruised without any issues, but I suspect Shuri, Elsa, Venom, Gorr and other heavy debuffers would also work.
One caveat: Cat at high combo does turn off some favorable effects, so be aware.
Hope this is helpful to someone. On to Gwenmaster!
