Mastery load outs?

I'm not sure if this has ever been mentioned by the devs before (although I think it has), but will we ever get loadouts for masteries, similar to what we have in BGs? I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but it would be nice to just be able to quickly switch to suicides for arena, and then switch back again when I'm done, without having to spend 5 minutes every time resetting my masteries.

I've been asking for those since before BG, and in fact I strongly suggested it as a launch feature for BGs when it was in closed beta. Personally, I think it is a good idea, however I would not hold your breath waiting for them. It is something I and others have advocated for directly with the devs, and for reasons it is not my place to discuss publicly it is unlikely to happen any time in the near future.

We all know the reason why. I understand completely that spending is necessary for the game to exist. I have no problem with big spenders having a big competitive advantage.

I only have issues with two spending features in this game. The first is express arena being behind a paywall. Imagine a different game; say a mmorpg with fast travel, can you imagine charging a premium just for that feature?

The second is the mastery system. Especially with war and quality of life regression, because let's face it that made it so much more of a pain for a large part of the competitive player base, the majority of who spend. Want to play competitive war and don't sleep when matchmaking starts? Set an alarm. Spend a few hundred units. Spend a few more hundred to switch back to play the game. Time to do your war fights? Another couple hundred units. Switch back. Depending on your war tier and how competitive you're alliance is, 200 units is not an exaggeration. 800 units a war x 3 a week x 4 weeks a season is 9600 hundred units a season or roughly 300 us dollars just to change masteries. And the people in the top alliances don't grind units, they just swipe their credit cards.

I'm not quitting the game anytime soon and this isn't a threat or a stupid demand, but I will stop playing at some point in a year or two or five, and I have no doubt when I do stop playing the number one factor will be the horrible mastery system.
