Is Incursions Pay to Win?

Seems like you need extremely good RNG on both hacks and boss nodes/defenders to be able to get a zone 25 run without using revives. I genuinely don’t get why Kabam has to paywall the revives behind units? Hasn’t this been brought up enough? Instead of putting a change in the UI to the shop (which basically lumps the p2w shops with the f2p), can’t we improve the QoL aspect of other things?

Not too mention, the galan and odin prefights are still bugged and dissapear if your game crashes.

Sounds like a skill issue, I had no issues getting a zone 25 run last month with just sersi and silk. Get the right hacks and it is pretty easy

Not a skill issue if you got lucky with RNG, i had back to back mystic bosses with fisticuffs/fate seal/power snack/freezer burn etc nodes. This seems like a pedantic response, if youre going to shoot down a chance at them making revives more attainable outside of unit spending with “just silk it”

For me, it’s worth the units for a few revives for the rewards in incursions sector 6.

Let’s say you use 300 units in revives and weigh these against the rewards from a zone 25 run.

This is easily better value than spending 300 units on Cyber weekend. T3a, t3b, 100 sig stones, heaps of shards etc.

If you’re using a team like Hercules, Heimdall and Thor, a single revive can take you a very long way.

Combo of skill, rng/luck… I’ve had multiple 25 zone runs with Herc/Heimdall/Thor team with all the right hacks where I’ve barely had to even to sub in a champ to counter a boss fight… then this last run (first time with ascended Herc) was by far the hardest. Had bad luck with hacks and TERRIBLE anti-Herc node combinations. Not just anti-Herc, but just crazy node combos in general. Now that it’s reset, hoping this months run is smoother.

I noticed a lot of cleanse nodes which counter herc sp2 stun directly. Very annoying

Same, got an insane Anti-Herc Red Skull Boss in Zone 18 this time. Unstoppable/Unblockable almost all the time and sealing/erasing your Buffs and Power after his SP.

But got all the good Hacks for Herc at least. Against normal enemies I could loop SP2 —> Relic —> SP2 —> Relic infinitely.

It's gives about 170k artifacts per cycle, you can aim 100k as well to hunt for the 7* in 4 months. I think if you have good roster you reach atleast zone 10 is 3 sectors assigned to you. It's not pay to win but revives are terrible for non Herc champ.

Disclaimer: As i always herc it so i don't know standard difficulty, so not a subject expert on the matter.

whether or not its doable with Herc without revives doesn’t change the fact that we need more f2p ways of grinding for revives. Most nodes or node defender combos are stacked to be anti herc

That’s not always the case. I got matched against a KM with some pretty stacked nodes, by the time I could’ve done enough damage, the immortality would’ve been gone

I got a bunch of evil nodes on my runs like basic attacks deal no damage only specials, and you cannot gain power, only deal damage in damage over time. I was using 6 star corvus and some other none dot champs. The sad thing is that one of my best champs is archangel

That logic could be applied to every single aspect of the game. "Why spend units here you can just save them for big sale days."

If someone gets to zone 22 but their champion dies and a revive will let them continue, that's not pay to win. Even if they have to use a revive for the next three zones. Are the revive costs in incursions a little high? Yeah. Compared to other revives and the fact that we can't easily get them in other areas. Yeah, they're a little high. But the rooms also provide multiple areas and opportunities to heal and revive our characters.

Can you pay to get ahead and an advantage? Yes.
Are incursions RNG based and that might present opportunities where you hit a hard wall? Yes.
Are they designed that you have to pay? No. Not by a long shot.

They've made incursions so much smoother. The persistent hacks are VERY friendly.

Does it contribute to the game being a Freemium mobile game with an increasing gap between FTP and Spenders? Perhaps, but by an amount that's smaller when compared to other aspects of the game. By itself, I wouldn't say it's Pay to Win.

The hacks last 99 rooms, the rooms themselves are easier due to being changed. The bosses are easier also

Can't he? Undying says it regenerate 10-50% of direct damage taken while it's active. Wouldn't you still take enough damage in the long run to kill you?

No, because red numbers can't kill awakened Morbius, of course if it takes you to 1 hp then odds are a blocked hit will kill you

The Ai is allowed to do things in this mode specifically that are completely outside of the realm of fair play.

So yes, it is pay to win.
