Why does hardware play a factor in Battlegrounds scoring?

I have been having several really close games and I couldn't help notice that the fight duration in the scoring screen is different to the one in the fight info screen. This is the most egregious example I have had so far. I was faster than my opponent in the fight but since I took longer to load in I lose? How is this fair, and why if we have the actual fight duration aren't we using it.

What causes this then? Why is my time 8 seconds slower than the info screen, compared to his being only 4 seconds slower? My phone is a bit slower and takes time to load in so that's what I thought it was

Loading screens depends on hardware.
Is 100MBps speed low for mcoc?

Has that been confirmed by kabam? Either way why should i be losing with a faster fight time just because my connection has to travel half the globe

It does have to do with hardware when I play on my phone I load in with about a 1:40 on the clock but on iPad I load in at 1:58

samsung s10+. I know the mcoc is made for iphones but it still doesn't make sense why im punished for loading in slower. you lose 84 points per second in bgs so if im losing 8-10 seconds just on loading time im losing around 700 points every round, which is massive when the scores are this close

This is a huge issue and I hope it is fixed some people are sitting loading for 10-20 seconds while the other person is fighting

Or maybe it is something that can be fixed… I’m pretty sure it’s their job to make the game as enjoyable as possible and asking someone to drop a couple hundred dollars on phone to play their video just isn’t that.

Idk...I play okay, I rank high enough for my satisfaction, even with disadvantages.
I don't care enough to get a new device to be TopDog on a mobile game. I make do.
Plus as mentioned, there are server lags and they do not discriminate what hardware you have, if its gonna happen it's gonna happen.

Sure, Wouldn't mind one single bit if my fights started at the same time as others.

You clearly have never played a cross-platform multiplayer. My 12 year old can expound how pc players have an edge on the tablet/ps4/5/xbox/steamdeck players cause of reasons. Currently he's trying to make a ps5 controller connect to his gaming tower. There's no "fair".

As for this game, there's ideal configs that Kabam should share with their customers, but since the system can't (won't) differentiate between user game pause/lost connection/ genuine server issues, it is what it is, and isn't likely to change.

Sorry but isn't that time in the fight info screen irrespective to lag and connection issues? I guess thats my point, the game already does have a way to differentiate between lag and actual fight time because they have that number on display( my fight being 53 seconds), so why is it not used.

Load times can depend on device hardware like your GPU and Ram. You have a 4 year old device and most likely have 8gb of RAM. This is what loads the game faster or slower just like a computer.

As also mentioned, your connection can cause the delay as well. Even if you see full bars or connected to wifi, your connection can dip and cause that delay. On WiFi, the more devices you have connected, the less bandwidth your router has to support those devices.

MCOC isn't MADE for iPhones. Apple tends to work more smoothly because there aren't hundreds of devices to program for. Apple has similar specs throughout all of its phones whereas there's 100's Android devices that can play MCOC. That's why the experience is different.

Just know that Two different clock timers are working in a fight.

You could argue that if you had a better wifi chip in your phone or internet then it's a "hardware" issue but it really should just how you're connecting to the servers since kabam monitors bgs

The match reporting is yes but the game still needs to load through the device. The game is played locally and the data is sent to the server to report the results.

I could also be completely wrong. 🤷

oh i completely forgot about forced restarts. that makes sense. even then though im sure kabam could differentiate between starting lag and a forced restart. ah well hopefully its something kabam can try to fix one day. its just really unfortunate to lose games on a technicality.

When i use mobile data i always lose 3-4 seconds than when i use wifi
