BGs - seeding without milestones and the 1-year anniversary
Does it make sense in its current form?
I am no scrub (maybe!), but equally no savant. I have reached the gladiator circuit every season since the start and I noticed that prior to seeding I could reliably earn about 300k-400k in points going from Bronze to GC. Now having started in Plat 2 I am in Vibranium 3 already and earned less than 140k in points (winning about twice as many matches as I lost) . This means I will probably not get more than half the milestones I usually would w/o endless grinding in the GC once I reach.
If I was paranoid and had on a tin foil hat I would surmise that the current seeding system is designed to push more players into GC earlier than ever without achieving the milestones they would have starting at the bottom of victory track, thus forcing them to win more matches in that hot sweaty cauldron that is the gladiator circuit.
This is a big reason people even did point farming previously when AW rewards were attached to BGs and why some will be doing it now - it's not fun for a lot of people to do that.
1. If you are going to have seeding, and give the promotion level rewards that go with it upon completion of a minimum number of matches, why not also give milestones to a set level as well?
2. If not that, why not attribute more milestones points to winning and losing in GC than in VC, especially given the higher difficulty of nodes and opponents there?
3. A 3rd solution would have been to place the extra special 1-year anniversary celebration rewards (that we've even invited in a myriad of player levels to enjoy) at mid-tier milestone levels to ensure everyone celebrated, rather than at the sweaty end of the milestones which usually requires a lot of money and/or units grinded from arena to get elders marks.
I just can't understand how something that is supposed to be a celebration event has been turned into a grind-fest.
Just my 2 cents.
