Does domino and apocalypse need awakening or what?

asking because i have a 5 star Hercules im awakening here soon but i have one more gem after that can go to either one but idk who needs it more

I wouldn't use a gem on apoc. Unless you are actively using him as a counter, most of the time you are only doing one or two fights a quest with him, then making a horseman.

Apocalypse is still a great champion; but his Awakened ability does very little for him in most questing, and nothing at all in Battlegrounds.

One place it's helpful is Incursions - with Incursions potions being fairly expensive, it's great to have access to free healing; plus Apoc's mix of abilities, debuffs, Prowess and Horsemen can get insane, for clearing Incursions lanes.

Having said that: you're talking about 5-star champions. Two things to bear in mind: (1) All of your five-start champions will eventually get outdated; especially Domino, who is available as a 7-star. And (2) 5-star Awakening Gems become increasingly widely available as you progress.

As you move into Act 8, I think you'll find yourself still using Apocalypse to clear content far longer than you'll be using 5-star Domino. At 5/65 and (eventually) Ascended he'll be useful for years.

So if you want a fast pay-off, who's very useful in Battlegrounds - Domino.

As a better long-term investment, who's very useful in Incursions and Story Content - Apocalypse.
