unable to play battlegrounds

in Bugs and Known Issues
I became uncollected but would not let me play battlegrounds (it would spend a victory shield if I clicked it!) using energy or tokens. So I became Cavalier and still no playing battlegrounds....has anyone else experienced this. I wrote to Kabam and got no resolution.

    What Summoner Level are you ?
    I think others have said that even though you reach UC, you might also have to be at least Level 40 before BG mode is available.
