Which Arena Crystals to Open?

I have a million Battle chips. Its been a while since Ive opened any arena crystals, which crystal is the best overall for units?

I have opened 500k Thronebreaker crystals and gotten 0 units (10 cyrstals)
I have opened 100k Uncollected crystals and gotten 0 units (10 cyrstals)
I have opened 20k regular crystals and gotten 0 units (10 crystals)

Guess which of these convinced me to never open Thronebreaker crystals again? The higher level crystals are just multiplied by the respective amounts, with higher rarity punisher as a trophy.

I only open regular crystals now. It saves me the heartache of getting 0 units from over 100k battchips.

Like many things in the game it is RNG. You could get thousands of units from spending 500k battlechips on thronebreaker crystals, but you could get 0

You will not get 0 units from spending 500k battchips on regular or likely even uncollected.

Depends how much you want to gamble. But I will keep my risk low.

After getting only 450 units from over 60 Uncollected crystals (which is about half of the expected amount), I followed the advice and now only open regular crystals… Evens out the average.

All equal drop rates for units. TB if you feel lucky, regular if you want to hit the average. Had an alliance mate hit units in the TB crystal 4 times in 10 crystals recently. So if you don’t mind getting skunked and only pulling gold, it can be a worthwhile gamble if it hits.

All of the arena crystals have identical average return rates for units per battlechip. Meaning, in the long run, a million BC of arena crystals will generate the same average amount of units (the calculated average is 1800).

However, the more crystals you open, the closer your actual return will be to the statistical average. So if you open 20 TB crystals (one million BC worth) you will obviously get much more wildly varying returns than if you open 500 normal crystals (also one million BC worth). So if you do not want to get unlucky, and you're willing to never get unusually lucky as well, open the normal crystals.

Since that will be 500 crystals, if you are willing to have a little bit of bad luck in your life to save all that time, then open 100 UC crystals instead. You will get a higher variation with those, but you will spend less of your life tapping the screen fifty times to open arena crystals.
