Is there any reason why Stat Focus is inconsistent?

These are two different types of content. The first is Incursions and the second is LoL. Why is Gladiator receiving different numbers of crit rating in these two instances?
I didn’t run any crit synergies and I don’t remember picking any crit buffs either. Also, should those crit buffs from Incursions even affect Stat focus?

I think that should only affect the opponent though, it lowers stats not increase them..

I don't think they are deceptive, in the sense that there is a CR notation. The problem is there is no correct percentage value the devs could ever give, but players pretty much demanded one.

Stats are just stats. +150 crit rating is not any percentage. We can give very rough rule of thumb estimates, but there is no percentage value that will always be more or less on the mark, and that has to do with the answers to your two original questions:

- Why is Gladiator receiving different numbers of crit rating in these two instances?
- Also, should those crit buffs from Incursions even affect Stat focus?

Challenge Rating, and yes.

The earlier responses are correct: these crit rating bonuses are being affected by defender CR. But not in the way some might think. CR doesn't directly make the stat bonus smaller. Rather, it affects the final value of crit rating.

Suppose you have a crit rating of 486, like Gladiator does as a 7* R2. Your critical percentage would be 15.75% against CR 220 (which would be the CR of a 7* R2 opponent). If you were to apply a +137 crit rating boost, that would make your net critical rating 623, which would then make your critical percentage against the same CR 220 opponent 19.33%. In this case, that +137 critical rating stat boost would be increasing critical percentage by 19.33 - 15.75 = 3.58%, or about 3.6%.

But suppose you go against a 5* R5 instead, with a challenge rating of 120? Then the critical percentage for 486 rating would be 18.79% and for 623 it would be 22.88%, and the difference would be 4.09% or about 4.1% (ex-champions in Labyrinth might not have the standard CR as champions of similar rarity and rank). The difference is not due to CR directly reducing the effect of the stat bonus: rather it is due to higher CR increasing the diminishing effects of DR, and *both* the unmodified crit rating and the stat boosted one are reduced relative to the lower rarity opponent.

And what would happen if you were in an incursion and experiencing, say, a +500 critical rating boost? Then your total critical rating without the stat focus would be 986, and 1123 with the stat focus. That corresponds to 27.5% and 30.16%, or a difference of 2.66%, or about 2.7%.

All flat stats are diminishing returns stats. That means, without getting into the math, that the higher you go, the harder it is to get even higher. So the higher you start, the less any stat focus bonus will be able to push you even higher. So +137 rating doesn't "mean" any percentage. It means +137. If you want to know how much higher up the mountain +137 can push you, you have to know where you are starting from, and how steep the mountain is.

You can ask for the stat screens to pick a "more relevant" CR, but no matter what CR you pick, the percentage you get will only be an extremely rough estimate, and even here where the opponent CR is exactly the same for all the calculations, +137 stat rating ends up meaning completely different bonuses in two different situations.
