Rare aw bug

Can anyone please help? I switched alliances and my aw defenders seem to be ‘stuck’. I can get in aw and attack through the spectate button but I can’t hit join and place defenders. I filled out a ticket and got a response but the ticket is closed and I still can’t place defenders. Has anyone else had this happen? I’ve updated the game & reinstalled the app. My alliance could kick me during banquet, although they’ve been super cool about it.
