Agreed on the BG part, this is the first time since it launched that I wasn't able to get to GC

I'm still having fun with the game 8.3 was fun, necropolis was fun, BG and War is awful so I'm giving it a miss, you don't have to play every game mode. Sure if you want to be in the top 1% but at that point you're not playing for fun. I'm still valiant, and have a solid roster, but I'm picking and choosing to avoid the modes that are painstaking to play. Especially until the AI holding specials or being able to launch specials on the floor is addressed.

I had fun yesterday messing around with the 7 for 7 Carina’s trial. There as an intercept node path and it was so satisfying to actually be able to backdraft intercept. I was so used to hitting into the block or getting light intercepted, it felt like the good old days before AI protocol “Turtle” showed up.

It is a bad month for sure with all the things listed in the OP and the special events (banquet, side quest, anniversary) being lackluster at best. Trying to make the most of it but disappointed because of the time of year. Most of us get more free time and this game isn’t going to be providing much in the way of extra enjoyment. Especially if you have already hit your personal objectives in necropolis.

I am not trying to be top 1% here. I agree with you 8.3 and necro are fun game modes. However, AW and BG are still big part of this game which are hard to miss. BG used to be fun and challenging game mode but at the moment it is in the borderline. If you are avoiding “the other painstaking to play game mode” it is because it is difficult and not fun.

Somehow i imagine that if kabam see this their response is going to be something like "the fun of this game is determined by your expectation of how this game plays out for you etc..." idk, must be my imagination

I was thankfully able to record the instances of AI doing backdraft intercept on regular basis, will post it when I'm out of jail.

Basically what it is, AI will stand still, hold block or just walk towards you, the MOMENT you charge at AI, it will immediate do a dash back (making your dash in miss) and immediately counter attack with it's own medium attack, ridiculous. You can't counter it because your character is still in dash in animation, so what ends up happening is, our character is a perfect food for getting 5 combo into special by AI.

The story content is still number one. Those boss fights have been epic. I just finished the 7 for 7 and was glad to have a reason to revisit those fights. Especially superior kang.

Not all game modes are fun.

BGs were never particularly fun for me, but this season they are incredibly indifferent to me and lots of others, apparently. I practically don't play the mode.

War is also at a very worrysome state, after Kabam's decision to deliberately make it "slightly" harder. If this is how they wanna roll, this game mode will go downhill very fast as well.

Story mode is amazing and the most enjoyable piece of content. AQ and monthly EQ are repetitive and boring but at least they are constant providers of resources.

And there is Necropolis to keep us busy and entertained and a place to invest time, resources and focus. After that, all I will be doing is playing the standard repetitive stuff each month and wait for Act 8.4 to drop.

I explored act 8 fully last week and it was fun, also the 7 for 7 challenge which I'm still doing, and now I'm just waiting for the 20th for the Guilty Challenge that for sure will be fun as well

It's just power gain nodes in bgs I hate, if they did away with any power gain stuff until the ai isn't so special stingey it wouldn't be so bad, nothing worse than playing perfect then the ai just decides to block, dash back, block dash back, then get to sp3 and you died through no fault of your own.. zemo's ai is terrible, I have no trouble fighting him if he didn't have the power gain, but he seems to hold specials until you dash in..

Who doesn't have fun with a power gain BG meta when the AI refuses to throw specials? That's both fun and interactive.

BG’s has just ran its course already. The amount of time you have to play it is the problem.

This is the first time I haven't gone into the circuit in a long time

Not because I find the node hard, I made it to Vib3 only losing once...

I just really don't like the mode and the "normal" rewards kinda stink, especially the season after boosted rewards

Difficulty comes from nodes and defender champion i agree. But AI behavior and reaction is not difficult its more of a gamble, now that is not what i would consider a challenge. Combine that together it becomes annoying, in time it would no longer be fun.

And light/special intercepts. Literally just sees you coming and throws the special. I guess we're back to parry heavy playstyle. Oh wait, Kabam doesn't want us to parry their new champs...

What is a challenge these days then? Necropolis isn't even a challenge when you can revive through it.

8.3? Nope. Not even close.

8.2? Of course not.

We have the easiest story content we've ever had because people don't want to feel challenged.

I also only commented on the 2 points OP listed about difficulty. I didn't say anything about A.I reactions because I face those as well. Facing something challenging isn't "an issue" so I'm not doing what you're accusing me of.

I get that you want to attack me but maybe next time read what I post before embarrassing yourself.
