Both are great nuke champs (CGR probably better), Galan is the better defender. Both have good utility, although I give the edge to Galan on that one.

The real question is if you have any practice with either of them. CGR has specific rotations and play styles to get the most out of him. Galan is just no thoughts only red numbers. If you’re already comfortable with or are willing to learn CGR, he’s the better offensive choice. Otherwise, Galan.

Jokes aside, I've found that I use Galan more than CGR. It is very subjective, I like his play style and for most content I would rather use Hulkling, Angela or Herc rather than CGR. Galan just makes them even better to use.

CGR isn’t a dual threat but can still deal a mean degen if you haven’t got a counter or know what you’re doing (this is scaled with sig ability) Galan is much slower than CGR and sometimes time is a factor in battlegrounds.

This thread was from dec 2023 and trust me galan was the meta at that time. Galan was used more in bgs than cge since the meta at that time favoured him. Like the bg meta previous season was polka dot power where galan works better, we had a meta where opponent gains armor buff and power burns you when armor is active, I need not to tell you how insane galan would be at that meta. There were multiple meta which gave defenders buffs, like combat deja vu prowess, which makes galan a potent defender as well. And none of the tough op defenders existed at that time, so galan and hulking were used in bgs more than cgr.

Nowadays cgr is the best bg attacker by a huge margin. No other champ comes close to him.

Time has changed indeed, now I see CGR in more decks than Galan. Last year was when Galan was meta

Galan can be a menace in some metas especially ones with tons of buffs
