I don't think a new currency is what works for me. I already do arenas for units, AQ for glory, BGs for battlechips and AW for loyatly. There's enough different currency already so let's not make it more grindy.

There's not much of a counter offer to that.

You're asking for a free currency (something earned through free game play) that allows you to NOT purchase, but still receive, the only things in the game that provide monetary value, which keeps the game running.

Effectively what you're asking for is to shut down the game, or flood it with ads. Personally I'm not a fan of either.

I would suggest asking friends and family to give you google play or apple store gift cards for the holidays. That will let you purchase those things items for free.

You do realize that if that were a thing, you'd have to do super tedious things for basically no return at all for your time. For example: perform all these tasks and you get 1 credit. 100 credits is equivalent for $1. Good luck spending 1000 hours just to not have to buy an Odin 3 years from now.

I should also point out that in the literal sense, the OP is asking for an impossibility. The in-app purchase store is not actually run by Kabam. It is run by Apple and Google on the appropriate platforms. It is literally impossible for Kabam to award any sort of currency that would work in those stores. The only legal way for them to do that would be to somehow magically award the player iTunes or Google Play gift cards.

I say magically because unless the player tells Kabam through some voluntary channel, Kabam has no idea who you are or how to go about sending you anything. You don't even technically need to give them an email address to play the game (they ask for one if you make a Kabam ID, which is recommended but not mandatory), much less any other personally identifying information. Kabam cannot ask Apple or Google to contact players for them, because this would violate the platform's privacy policies.

Although it is Kabam's stuff in there, the in-app purchase store is not a Kabam store and they don't control how people buy things from it. They cannot give players a unit store "credit" of any kind in-game. The only way this could possibly work is if Kabam set up some other store where you could spend some other currency that they awarded, which paralleled the in-app purchase stores.

But then that just becomes the in-game stores where you can buy stuff with units. Units are the intermediate currency that players can exchange cash for, and that Kabam can separately award to the player. That's essentially why units exist.

Its a cool idea that other games have done like elder scrolls online where FTP players can get in-app store items through grinding extra hard to be able to obtain items only p2p players could get. Unfortunately though as DNA and others said, money is what runs the game and this would undermine the value of spending. Fortunately the 22 hour events, arena, lower difficulties of EQ and weekly alliance events grant players more than a sufficient supply of units for a fair amount of time spent. Your idea wasn’t bad but its just not ethical for a game quite like this.

This job thing you reference sounds like work. I'm a little confuse since I have a job but it seems like OP doesn't want to use his real money on this so Kabam needs to come up with a way to purchase odins for free. If OP means purchasing Odins to get units than he have arenas for that. That's too much work so come on it's the holidays can't we make it happen. Maybe Santa will give OP a gift card, only if he's been a good boy/girl this year. I'm guessing a lump of coal will be the present but again I don't know OP at all so there is a chance for a Santa gift card.
