Overrated or underrated: Captain America (Sam Wilson)

Personally, I think he’s another underrated champ that is often overlooked by many. Plus he was one of the champs featured in the 7 Star legends celebration selector.

I took him to R3 as a 7* and he is absolutely crushing for me this season in AW, such an MVP for a lot of tricky mutant defenders. Probably the best counter to onslaught in terms of abilities, though shocker is up there too.

I have an awakened 7*, but I hear he needs something like sig 100 to really be viable, whereas Falcon needs about sig 60.

I have Shuri at r3 and Shocker at r2, so I really don’t see him going to r2 anytime soon, even if he is the only current of my r1 Techs with shiny stars.

Some decent utility, but horrendous damage without high sig. He’s a decent champ, but I’d take many other techs over him

I think people are underrating his damage a little. In war I’ve been taking path fights with him in 40 seconds, and bosses on boss island in 1:10-20. Those bosses get to 500k HP, and ofc I’m boosted, but taking an R3 Bishop with 500k health in ~80 seconds is not bad at all

He doesn’t have crazy damage no, and I wouldn’t be mad on a damage tune up, but I don’t think horrendous, or needing a synergy team is fair.

He’s perfectly workable in terms of damage for the utility he brings, I’d describe him as having just enough damage.

In what universe would anyone consider him overrated? I see nothing but negative comments and people just dumping all over him. No, he’s not a nuke but he has a lot of tools to counter various problems. He deserves more credit than he gets.

He is underrated for sure. Just because he isn’t great for most BG metas he isn’t used much. But he is one of the better AW attackers for a lot of fights. His damage is ok, not poor. His utility is awesome and that makes up for it.

Techs really are in a competition for sig stones aren’t they? Nearly every tech champion in the game benefits from the awakened ability. Darkhawk, Viv Vision, Fantman, Vision (AOU and classic), etc.

Also Ultron, Warlock for defense, Star Lord if someone still wants to use him, and the list can go on Tech champs that benefit a lot from awakening and high sig 😉

Yeah it’s definitely not the most common choice! I had a tech 2-3 from Necro and no other options I was excited for, I also had already used my generic on Chee’ilth and I wanted to become Valiant before the cut off for the holiday calendar so I went for Sam since he was attack tactic and SSX are pushing this season - and Sam is pretty cool! (Been an absolute MVP on defence in BGs, I’ve only lost one round with him so far - and that was against a werewolf…)

Sorry to disappoint on Odin, he was just there for pre fights. I haven’t been able to use him in war yet, but hopefully one day in the future! He’s fun

he's a good and safe option for a lot of matches ive seen people drop him into war, i wish he got a value buff with his movie cz he really doesnt need much other than more consistent armors ups and a bit extra damage

In my opinion he has such an amazing display of utility, although in the damage department he really needs some help. Something that really bothers me it's that the whole Champ Rebalancing Program started a month after him. I don't remember if it was delayed and both him and Misty suffered that choice but I really hope Kabam decides to bump those numbers now that the movie it's coming out.
