Does anyone use Guardian in BGs? I can’t decide between ranking the 7* vs the 6*

I have the 7* unawakened and the 6* at rank 3 sig 200. I can take the 6* to rank 4 easily and ascend him. Have t6cc as well but leaning towards r5 FAM first.

Guardian as a 6* with max sig has nice matchups such as Domino, KM, Photon, Bullseye etc. His max sig won’t let people Kate him on BGs.

On the other hand 7* is a NUKE with potentially Sunspot level value on attack, especially if i ranked him over the 6* to rank 5. The only downside is I wouldn’t have the block proficiency, bleed resistance, and energy resistance.

I could still rank the 7* knowing I’ll eventually dupe him, but does the 6* at max sig still outclass the 7* at sig 20?

The 6* scaled well and you wanted him sig 200 but 7* makes signature abilities weird as Domino and Korg are still ideal as the 7* sig 20 over the 6* sig 200. Guardian could be a different case than these 2 since he still retains his value on attack.

Did you mean hes op on offense mainly or a good dual threat too? I bet hes super tanky but not sure if that autoblock on specials and shock debuff he places makes him close to IMIW or mysterio level as a defender.

Would you r2 him before r5 FAM (currently rank 4 ascended). I got 2 generic r2 gems as well , but planning to save them for the next two Titan crystals (or just saving them for a better class like Science or Mystic where theres more r2 worthy champs)

If they don't have a counter for auto-block it's probably a guaranteed timeout especially for this meta since he will be constantly popping sp1 and getting a ton of charges. As for offense, the only match where his awakened ability has really made a difference is Domino but other than that it's been pretty much the same for me.

And I completely agree, with the when to place on defense. Off the top of my head, Herc, Hulkling, Torch, Kate, Future Antman, CGR counter him. Black cat too maybe? I know I’m definitely missing some. Good thing is AA won’t work against him even unduped

For offense, he's great, one SP1 and a SP2 should end most fights.

For defense, depends if they have an autoblock/armor up counter, if they don't he could be good

Back in the days when my r4 6* was viable for bgs, I have never needed his sig. With sp focus I guess his shock damage should be enough, but can't check that myself.

Unfortunately no, r1. I have tried him against KM (7* unawakened not sure about awakened) and it worked pretty well though. Bullseye and Photon I haven't been able to yet but I'd assume he's great for Photon as long as you don't parry, Bullseye doubt it cause you don't have the bleed resistance from his sig ability and Bullseye without bleed immune or bleed resistance is a hard no unless you want to lose a good chunk health.

Yeah you need very specific counters for him and sometimes you can trap people with him, done it myself.
