I don't know, it seems to me that this despair in events that lead you to spend a lot of money, makes me think. 7* rank 3... what comes next? 8*,9*? This won't last forever.

    8* and 9* are inevitable, or 7* ascension with multiple levels, whatever the game team decides. There needs to be a chase item, we’ll hopefully keep going as long as the whales will fund us for.

    The issue with MCOC is it's clearly been Netmarble's chief revenue generator, which puts enormous pressure on it to continue to drive revenue, as it's literally keeping the rest of Kabam relevant to Netmarble's portfolio. Also remember Netmarble only keeps maybe half of that, the rest goes to Disney, depending on their profit split. Mo money, mo problems as they say.

    Yes, 8 comes after 7.

    It is really that simple. This is not a single player fixed end game. There is no planned finale. There is no point at which the game is intended to just stop. They will keep adding new champions until the game dies. They will keep adding rarities until the game dies. 8* comes after 7*, because 8 comes after 7.

    MCOC is an important revenue source for Netmarble. It is the single largest revenue source. But there’s no pressure the source of 12% gets that the source of 9% doesn’t get. 12% is a lot, but 88% is more.

    And as you say, MCOC has licensing and revenue sharing burdens that are likely significant relative to other properties. It isn’t assured that MCOC represents the single largest source of net revenue (I.e. profits) for Netmarble.

    MCOC is an important title for Netmarble. It is a high profile game, and it is a large revenue source. But that would only suggest it was in Netmarble’s best interests to manage that property carefully and properly. Reading anything else into the tea leaves would be wild speculation.

    Could you imagine if the game suddenly shut down?

    I’d feel so bad for the players that put in not only thousands, but tens of thousands of dollars to stay on top.

    Not to mention the streamers that stream this game as an actual job?

    I don’t think it’s going anywhere. They make too much money.

    To be honest, as much as I believe the game will continue and as much as I want it to, that's always a reality. When I spend, I know that's not a returning investment. Anything can happen, and there's never any guarantee. I don't believe this game is going anywhere, but I'd consider it naive if I didn't accept that's a possibility, just like any other game.

    Good point. It has been about 10 years though and still going strong.

    I really enjoy the game when I can get on. I’d be pretty disappointed if it went away or turned into some subscription bullshi**y thing.

    Are there problems? Yes.

    Is it a “free” game with no ads or subscriptions necessary to play? Also Yes.

    I’ve obviously had my drunken rants on here as I’m sure you’ve seen, but I still love the game and hope it continues.
