Raids: Backdraft light intercepts not registering?

Hello
I’ve died 4 times to backdrafts light intercepts as well as backdraft medium intercepts not registering. I dash back and tap a light attack but my attacker doesn’t register it and the charging maestro mauls me down.
Also, AI seems a little too passive in raids.
