Does hulkling counter attuma?

Was playing bg and placed down 6r2 attuma on defense, opponent used 5r5 ascended hulkling against him. Usually, against 6r2 champs, the fight goes bad and they die in 60-80 sec bc of thorns, and attuma will still have around 40-50% hp left.

But in this situation, the fight took 84 secs and he killed attuma with 77% hp left on hulkling. Does hulkling counter him in some way?

He deals good damage and doesn't hit the opponent all that much since his power gain per hit so ig he's decent against attuma. I don't know if he counters the thorns themselves or not tho, I'm not a hulkling guy

He takes a bit of thorns but he wrecks him. One of my favorite champs to use against him

You probably faced someone who doesn't rely on parry which is the most difficult part of attumas kit. The thorns damage isn't awful, so that sounds right for a player who is skilled at the game.

If they’re skilled Hulkling can keep hitting in block and gains power when he gains one of his buffs. When he goes unblockable you can just wait for it to expire. You keep repeating until you become unblockable and have an L2, use the L2 and dead Attuma. If I recall correctly, Attuma is fairly squishy with lower health to compensate for the thorns.

Why would you hit block? He still deals thorns through his block so you'd actually take more dmg

Maybe it was due to RNG but for some reason I thought he didn’t thorn through block. I guess I just got lucky in the couple BG fights I had against him.

You need to hit the block quite a few times before the sp2 to have the unlockable buff while firing it, to gain two furies instead of one.
Even if Attuma ain't dead with the double fury sp2 (depends on rank difference between champs and if running suicides), few hits after while those furies are active and he is KO.
Hulkling is a very viable counter for him 🙂

i mean, if he had willpower on, he will heal back a decent amount from power sting, so 77% is understandable. In a equivalent fight hulkling often take attuma down in like 50 secs, so the reason why he took so long might be because he is not good at intercept so he decided to wait out the sting timer ?

And remember, if Hulking ended up being hit, the Regen brought him back up

I was referring to the only hit block strat that was commented above ^
    Sorry for the misunderstanding
