R5 Scorpion or Photon for BGs?

This is specifically for BGs, not War or Questing.

On one side of the coin, more and more people are learning how to fight Photon. I just took a rank 6 in 30 seconds. Even herc takes her fast and he’s not even meant be to a counter.

On the other side of the coin, more and more Science champions are outpacing Scorpion on attack. In most scenarios, you would draft a 7* Silk, Hulk, Spider Ham, Titania etc instead of him. Maybe few cases where youd draft Scorpion over them.

I’ve also heard Scorpion is somewhat reliant on the AI to play into you for maintaining the debuffs before they fall off when you go for the L2.

Please note, the “Scorpion is not a 7* , Photon is” does not matter to me as much since Photon really wants that high sig for defense.

To be honest, it's all about personal preference: both are great dual-threat champions with broad utility.

I've gone for Photon because she's more specifically good against tricky opponents who use Miss and non-contact attacks. Scorpion doesn't really counter anything in that way.

Also, yes Scorpion does need the AI to play ball; but Spider-Ham is way more reliant on AI behaviour than Scorpion is.

That's why they both have Taunt to manipulate the AI; personally I find it easier to get things done with Scorpion, and he's a tank where Ham is a glass cannon.

Photon is 7* already, she's good at r4 as it is because if you meet a player who knows what to do against photon then that r5 won't make a difference at all.

In BG scorp attack, don't do that charge heavy cancel special, that's time wasting and AI just don't dash in these days because Kabam refuse to fix it.
So for scorp, just spam sp-1 sp-1 sp-1, if you get hit then one sp-2 will heal you back to 100%

Ham isn't a glass cannon, he can tank specials if he have high spider nonsense + take less damage from degen.

Agreed with AI part. Ham's taunts are trash, it never worked for me, but Ham have a way to pause his power stings. Scorpion's power stings start expiring soon. The problem is, Ham takes a lot of time compared to scorpion, so Scorpion is better for bgs attack than Ham.

Sp2 use is only when you want to heal, sp-1 poison burst will melt enemy.
Throwing 4 sp-1 or throwing 2 sp-2?
