When did AW attack bonus change to 90 points?

Was this a silent change? I don’t remember hearing this at all. I also think it’s crappy move that encourages teams to spam Killmongers, Bullseye, Adam Warlock and The Serpent all over the map. I would hope that we would encourage more emphasis on diversity, especially with this crappy meta.

When kabam changed it for this season to accommodate for 5 missing nodes with the map change and forgot to tell the community.

That makes sense. I can’t believe I didn’t noticed this until now. Wasn’t until this massive diversity fail, that I even looked into the AB points. I assumed 80 points and someone pointed out the change to 90 points. No one knew it happened

Yeah someone said it was mentioned but I don't follow that person and not on their discord. They mentioned a post was created but not pushed to the community.

(Although that one is in “Bugs” category here, so not as many eyes. But yes today was first time seen in Forums here. Even though it has been in place for 10 wars now).

But wasn’t the redesign to 3 mini islands, and thus elimination of the extra 5 “empty” nodes, done well before beginning of this past offseason (which is when Attack Bonus changed) ?

So was it later on that they decided to modify the points ?

Don’t see the need for them to want to adjust the “OVERALL” points back to similar to what they were before the map redesign. Points *relative* to others is what matters. Don’t think there is any Ally Event that tracks total # of points. Also no Season Rewards based on an actual Point Total (other than relative to others), so no need to have adjusted Bonus from 80 to 90.

In fact, it now causes an imbalance versus other point categories. Attack Bonus vs Node Explore, vs Diversity, etc.

(Although not as bad as what changing the WIN bonus from 50,000 to 30,000 did quite some time earlier. Which really made your standing based more on your Tier Multiplier, instead of your actual Win/Loss percentage each season).

That’s was my main point. With extra points for AB, then it’s more beneficial to not worry about diversity since AB is 3 times the points of diversity. If 1 of 3 of the Killmongers you added to the map gets a kill, it was worth it.

Which makes TIES more likely now as well. (Bonus exactly 3x what Diversity is now)

Before, you had Attack Bonus, Diversity, and Node Explore all were basically NOT on common multiples of each other.

Ties were hard to come by (which was good) from non-same combinations of different points from those categories. (except for Exact same points in all the categories, but that's not what I mean here).

Wonder if this is something Kabam will ever address?

Well apparently they had plans to fix this problem. Thank you Kabam!!!
