AI intercept

How am I getting intercepted so god damn much by this AI. Why is it I throw or attempt to throw my SP attack it gets ignored & seems to act as a trigger for the AI to throw theirs instead. Why is it the AI seems to survives SP’s, 5 hit combos by 1% so many times.
