Pause button in battlegrounds

Why can’t the pause button be disabled during battlegrounds matches?? There are some people who use the pause button as it clearly indicates that the match duration is less than full time and still they win the matches because they don’t play the full match.
I have reported such users but what action is kabam taking against such people?
Are they just ignored? Why can’t the pause button not disabled??

    Pausers are not playing full match
    But you are playing full match, shouldn't you be winning?
    Not necessary if you play full match you win. Basically if you play full match you are at more risk of doing something wrong and giving away your health or even knockout. Players who pause the game do it because they know if they continue then they risk loosing health. For example if my health is 80% whereas the defender is at 50% health and now if I know he is going to throw a special 3 then I will pause the game. In this scenario if the opponent plays the full game he or she may risk giving away more health or even being knocked out.

    If playing as an attacker I can pause the game moment he starts his second life and he starts with 100%.
    As a defender, if he’s at 1% health then I pause the game

    If you win the battle but lose 90 men out 100, that's no win.

    That Hulkling fight legit goes long because he's just tuned like that plus that player has 92% HP ofc he deserves to win.

    Yes it’s actually a loophole but it was pointed out or raised 3-4 seasons back. Not sure what it takes to disable the button? If there is a loophole I understand people will use it but if raised and now it’s known then it needs to be actioned

    You cannot say what if the game was paused when hulking reached to special 3 and also a 10% defender health can make or break things. So doesn’t mean that the attacker is at 90% health and the defender has 10% health that means it’s a win 😀

    Also I didn’t get about what time is different? The fight duration is 41 seconds whereas the match results screen shows 117 seconds. So that’s gonna be different

    You lost 50% health in an optimal matchup and your opponent got defender down to 10% while only losing 10% health. I think they won this one.
    Besides I feel he got a disconnect and rejoined with less time remaining or might have got a phone call in the middle.

    Maybe you are correct but why keep the pause button enabled during ongoing matches.

    Just give up, some will defend borderline cheating, bullying of cavailers and TBs, and point farming... half of them are 16 years old and have lousy social skills, having lived in their mother's dark basement for the past 4 years…👻

    Just give up, some will defend borderline cheating, bullying of cavailers and TBs, and point farming... half of them are 16 years old and have lousy social skills, having lived in their mother's dark basement for the past 4 years…👻
    And some will say if you parry/block Gorr too much you will most likely lose a lot of health and you should try to intercept a bit and punish specials, instead of thinking oh I put Hulkling lol he has tech I will win...

    I do agree that pausing for more than 15 seconds should add a stacking penalty that removes points from your match. Kinda sucks when people take Serpent to 1% and pause the rest of the match to avoid his sp3. It also makes the matches a lot longer than they need to be.

    Because 117 or similar is always going to show up. 41 however is the actual play time, pause or not. Which means he disconnected and could only play 41 sec. I had it happening to me a few times

    The pause button should be removed because of the cheaters unfortunately. I’d also be ok with pausing passively degenerating health to 0 as soon as it’s used. Either option helps deal with cheaters over QoL interruptions.

    It’s a competitive integrity problem that’s been highlighted since season 1. Kabam is even on record stating that using the pause to manipulate scores is in fact a form of cheating. Unfortunately it’s tough to discern if one paused or got a DC or got a phone call… but tbh too many turds have ruined the punch bowl for us all.

    What’s always funny is how many people will defend this form of cheating.

    My guess u are just stuck in one match where as most don't they just move on and start playing next. It's for emergency & it should be there .

    Bring back the quit match button on the pause screen. Sure if a player quits soon as it starts they get 15k points. But come on if you can't beat a score of 15k you weren't going to win anyways.

    As a practical matter, it wouldn't matter. The pause button is a convenience, it allows you to see the combat screen, but you can get the same effect by simply switching away from the match. On both iOS and Android, the combat pauses if you switch away from the game, and there's no real way to change that. Combat can't really run in the background, and if you penalize people for switching away then everyone who gets a call during a fight or accidentally swipes wrong will start losing due to accidents.

    It is not a simple matter to force players to fight the entire fight through, because of the limitations of the devices the game runs on.
