Why change AW mid season?

Thanks to this awful change from the devs, it cost my alliance a win we should have clearly won in my opinion. In my opinion it’s such a stupid change and a very unnecessary, did anyone even ask for such a lame change?

They did announce it last week that the diversity change was happening.

But basically they released an overpowered tactic and alliances took advantage of it by not placing diversity. So then they tried to overcompensate for that by making new diversity points. Just hoping they cancel the season today.

Yea but when did they announce it? Me and another alliance member had to inform my alliance on how we lost. It’s whatever, I just wish they waited till next season to do it. I’m only in gold so I wouldn’t know about the harsh node.

Exploration: +400
Attack bonus: +90
Diversity (old system): -1,170

Result: You lose by 680 even if diversity was still 30 points.

The fact that you didn't face a bunch of tactic defenders and still only edged one more attack bonus clearly demonstrates you were the inferior alliance.

What about defender kills? We had 132 and they had 129. Do those points not count as much?

I don’t understand how were the inferior alliance? Explain? We had the better attack bonus, and more exploration. Because we didn’t place down a bunch of different defenders? I genuinely want to understand cause I want to make sure me and my alliance are all on the same page.

Even before this buff to diversity, it was still 30 points per unique defender (so 50 defenders per BG)

Attack bonus is maxed at 3 (90 points each), so full attack bonus is 270 per defender

If your defender gets more than 3 kills, none of them actually matter in scoring
- The opponent simply cannot gain 270 points, no other impact
- You do not get any points for defender kills

You barely explored more than them, it was a 400 point difference (which I included in my calculation)

You also didn't actually show the amount of defender kills, but again, no points are derived from this, only attack bonus matters

I'm sorry that you lost and that you're unhappy because you didn't think this announcement was made ina timely fashion, but you're a tad late. This should have been on your radar a week ago.

I believe the change was announced roughly a week ago. It was supposed to go into effect on the AW that started Fri 3/29. However the change went live during the AW that started on Wed 3/27. The AW that just ended was the third AW this change was a part of.

I'm sorry that you lost and that you're unhappy because you didn't think this announcement was made ina timely fashion, but you're a tad late. This should have been on your radar a week ago.

I’m not the only one that didn’t know about this change. I’m not unhappy about the change. I’m unhappy, cause why didnt wait until next season to implement a change? Why do it mid season. Especially if it has nothing to do with lower tier alliances.

Ok. Thank you for explaining this very well. I’ll make sure to keep my alliance up to date. I was just confused. And did say my alliance had 132 defender kills and they had 129 defenders, but I didn’t understand the defender point system so thank you for explaining.

I didn’t even know higher alliances were dealing with an invincibility node, that’s just insane. Im whatever on it now since this season is over now. Our alliance war score doesn’t matter this season anymore anyway

Even in tier 5 we were facing alliances who threw diversity out the window and places multiple Bullseye, Zemo, KM etc..

That wasn't fun even in low tiers so I can only imagine how that was at the top.

It wasn’t as grotesque for lower tier alliances Because we didn’t have to deal with the invincibility node. I didnt realize players were abusing certain nodes.
