X Magika gems

Apologies in advance if this has been answered before, but I can't find it.

Will the rank up gems and Sig stones for X Magika work after the saga ends, or is there a risk that someone will forget to leave the meta data on the champs to allow them to be used after the saga?

@kabam can anybody confirm if we can use the 4-5 gem on knull?
