Raid MODOK - not a fan of these Missions so far

Whiff 3x.. why? Might as well read: play poorly and score zero damage while completing this mission - also.. his AI just legit charges at you when you attempt it as opposed to the usual AI behavior to back up when we are whiffing lights

The block hits: 5.. so it requires the aggressive AI (and he really is aggressive) to back up twice to complete this mission.. and again it's another mission that involves not connecting attacks 😂 (doing damage to the defender)

Literally 66% of the missions require us to intentionally not connect our attacks (do damage)

All the other missions on the other bosses involve doing damage while completing.. save the dex mission, but dexing can be completed in the normal flow of combat and no time is really lost doing it.. it's a normal part of game play, but to have the final boss with 2/3 missions not dealing damage while completing them is a big problem imo - say you keep getting one of those 2 in a row.. multiple times, that's a wasted run

They don't take long to complete, especially not with the AI being the way it is.

It's just grandmaster lite. I think they're fine.

Couldn't agree more. The missions that do no damage are so dumb. Super aggressive AI where you have to whiff and he's unblockable is also just a poor game design. I get it that the boss should be tougher since you have 10 attackers, but I ran 4 revives on him and did a whopping 2% damage and still didn't max out the charges for the next guy.

I had hit block up.. and he wouldn't back up.. or when he did, he'd drop block just as I was about to make contact.. with his block.. we need a name for that actually.. "reverse parry?" 😂 he did this multiple times in a row.. the missions are pretty time consuming especially considering they require us to *not* connect attacks?
That's it! I'm coining the term "Reverse Parry" it's what the AI was doing in XMagica wars too sometimes actually.. Thing will do it sometimes if it gives him Unstoppable, etc. It's definitely an AI behavior I've noticed

Totally agree, and why 3 whiff ?? Most of the bosses mission we have in story is mode is just one, why 3 ? It slows down the fight, and it's not even fun anymore.
Plus, not having a chest after the fight gives the fight less important to rush. Just boring.
And for the hit in the block mission, that's OK, but why putting Aegon ??
The 3 fights were fine, but MODOK is clearly not

Please post a video of you doing it. I'd like to see how to get this accomplished properly if you say it's easy. Clearly the rest of us are doing something wrong.

Hit into block needs to be reduced from 5 to 4 so you can do it without baiting the ai into block stance twice
Whiff probably needs to be reduced to 2 or removed altogether
Too many time wasting mechanics you barely get to hit MODOK at all

The missions are a slog to get through but I think they're fine. Would do well with reduced numbers tho.

My main problem with this is that only the knockdown mission gives an undermine to the attacker. I was playing with storm and bad rng + unblockable just made it impossible to get into a rhythm. Threw 9 revives at him only to gather 7 role charges and do 7% damage.

Yeah, tbf.. I can see opportunities in hindsight where I could have gotten an extra whiff in probably here and there, but this was my second time fighting him.. and it's easy to say.. "just get those extra whiffs in, man" as the viewer.. but when actually in the fight, you're gonna be a little cautious as you don't wanna get hit.. and I assure you, in the previous fight he was all about punishing the whiff attempts, especially while unblockable - so I was more cautious in this fight (he will straight kill you lol.. he hits hard:)

But the point of the video was to show the ridiculous amount of whiff prompts I was getting.. like back to back to back.. How am I supposed to do damage if I keep getting instructed to miss intentionally over and over? 🙃and his behavior during the block hit prompts towards the end.. he just wasn't about it.. would drop his block and take a hit to the face to prevent it (Reverse Parry:)

We will see what the data says but I suspect by the 2nd or 3rd cycle players will have sorted out the best champions, gotten some more practice on the fight, and most Alliances will be back to clearing the map before the mid-week revive reset. Again we will see what the data shows, but on the surface it doesn't seem outside the acceptable tuning window.

You may be right, no telling as it's still fresh, but just pointing out that from a fight design perspective that 2 of the 3 prompts actually instruct us to not do damage - intentionally not connect our attacks.. where as almost all the other prompts can be done in the flow of actually hitting the defender? I think it would be different outside of a 3 minute timer scenario, sure.. but it's a 3 minute timer scenario

R2 Ironman. I struggled with my first few MODOK fights as my role boosts needs armor ups to trigger Undermine with boss missions, and generating armor ups was a challenge through his auto block, but I eventually got the hang of it and got a solid run in before others in my Alliance finished him off. Like I said, definitely tricky, but I'm pretty confident with a little more practice it won't be too bad.

I never liked the part of the game where it's AI dependent. You simply can't do anything if AI doesn't co-operate, no matter how skilled you are. These modok missions are fresh example of it and these are very stupid.
They should add another mission "stand idle for 10 seconds" 🤡 they certainly missed it.

I think it's also just the random nature of the prompts.. if they cycled in order or something.. it's different probably, but I legit was getting whiff 3-4 times in a row.. multiple times over? (Remember when Maestro would trigger the same Prompt 17 times in a row while having maxed Pierce charges? 🙃) Though, I do understand that cycling in order might take away some of the awareness aspect as you could kind of memorize them and therefore not focus any attention to which is being called mid fight - but they really do come out with the potential to repeat over and over.. and over as is though

Hey, I like the idea of Prompts in general.. it can be fun and adds the need for awareness and the ability to plan your next move(s) in real time, while also dealing with whatever champ or node abilities that are active at the time.. it can be fun

But, the 3 whiffs and 5 block hits just seem to be *too* disruptive to the flow and pace of a 3 minute fight imo.. this isn't a Story Mode Boss (where there is no timer) - he's a big dude and we need to do damage in 3 minutes lol.. idk

I think someone else hit it on the head earlier with 1 whiff, 4 block hits maybe.. that would at least limit these missions to having to only claim one opportunity to complete them instead of 2 (which seems intended, but I still think it's too much dancing around in a 3m fight?) That's if we need to keep those prompts at all.. maybe there's something better?

I liked Raids before when I was having fun after figuring out Ultron, Kang, Thanos and Maestro, then being able to take a few days off stupid AQ responsibilities and do other stuff in game.

Worst boss fight ever.

I don't understand why the whiffs are three when any other whiffs in game are one.

The main fun from Raids has always been figuring out the Bosses and getting the rhythm down in a fight.

The fact we have 3 minutes and have to do two objectives for charges that do zero damage and is heavily dependant on A.I. behavior is really bad in my opinion.

In design, I could see this seemingly not bad. But in practice it's a nightmare and kills all the fun of Raids.

Want people to have fun playing the game or not ? Data doesn’t show what is fun or what turns people away from a game mode.

Kabam always do stunts like this in end game fights...modok autoblock is annoying...and than he is getting unblockable....it is very difficult manage all the things in 3 mins. Atleast you guys could have increase the time a bit to complete the objectives..

Also block hit should be 4...
Waving should only 1..
Otherwise things are good...

But still this fight sucks..

There is a difference in finding the best counter but it counter’s product to have. 2 prompt where u as another said don’t deal damage and the thing he way to much. Unblocked. Pretty much always since you most time can’t remove it fast enough so that’s just a bit annoying. Fx I use storms X and just can’t do it. Perfect counter would be nick. Kind but then you can’t hit the blok prompt so it doesn’t make a lot of fun. But I would say it hasn’t ruined me the first thing I would say is why change the cheat to not giv a valiant cystal it make sense to have those in my opinion. Another thing undermines needs to be paused while sp that’s would make sense.

yeah and the reward update is half decent but still when a backup gets a titan crystal and someone else does 50m points and gets 50% t6cc which u can get from bg store anyway, it kinda stinks. Especially when both paid the same (very high) ticket price

Also, the completion rewards are exactly the same. They need a buff as well if beating the boss will take this much effort.
