Who do y’all consider will age better as a 7*, Warlock or Guardian?

Looks like I need another tech r3, and I recently got both of these gents awakened.

I’ve got the r2 Hulkbuster relic, and also some sig stones so Guardian could go up to about sig 100 if I wanted to invest them all.

I wouldn’t put any more into Warlock most likely, but I feel he already has enough in his kit to merit being a beast. Took me the longest time to get him as a 7*, but when I knew he was coming out, I just never took my 6* past 6r3 knowing the day might come.

If I had Red Skull awakened, I’d go with him without a doubt. But no dice so far on pulling that dupe.

Are you battlegrounds focused? Guardian is a great counter to a lot of annoyances. Warlock isn’t as relevant imo

I'll r3 red skull. He is scary in defense outside this meta, and doesn't need the dupe much.

My warlock is collecting dust. I wish Omega sentinel or ultron would've won the poll, Now they're gatekeeped behind limited pool.

Given that Guardian is a 2020 champ, Warlock is a 2019 champ; and both are still widely considered versatile and valuable, I think it's safe to say that both will continue to age well.

Warlock may take the edge for broad utility; but he's the safe slow option, where Guardian is the nuclear option. Personally I'd keep Warlock at r2 and Guardian to r3; but either way round is perfectly defensible.

Can't go wrong with any of the 3 you mentioned, but Guardian is the answer.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I think I am leaning more towards Guardian. Really enjoyed playing him when 5*s were the best we could get and I took mine to r5. Never messed with the 6* much when I finally got him, as I knew what the sig investment would be and I had better options at the time. I may wait until I clear these last couple ranks of VT to net the shards and see what those crystals give, but I think Guardian might end up being who I pull the trigger on.

IMIW? he is **** in attack, very easy defender even when duped. I would never look at his direction lol. Even I have one collecting dust.

This, people seem to forget how tanky he is, at r3 even with Hulkling Vox or Galan you won't be able to nuke in 30-40 secs as per usual. Without a counter it's a guaranteed timeout and there are very few champs that can actually nuke him.

Seriously? I haven't seen any imiw in bgs, especially at r3. And whenever I face him, I mostly never have trouble with him either. His autoblock is predictable, and he is useless in attack. Even at high sig, you can wait out and nuke him down after his armors end. Or can just use a autoblock counter.

And he is trash in attack.

Also find it funny that I got disagreed so hard for saying warlock isn’t as relevant as guardian for battlegrounds. Love to see warlock doing better than him if anyone has any footage

Trappy has a r3 and he's said multiple times that he is his MVP on defense on most metas in Celestial. I think you're severely underestimating how much of a tank a r3 awakened is, you will most likely time out if you're waiting out the armors.

Trappy is the goat. Completely agree with this. IMIW being predictable has nothing to do with it, it’s mostly that he’s extremely tanky and stalls a lot. The last power gain stage is a pain and he reduces a lot of the top cosmics damage by so much that you end up getting stalled out. I also want to point out his finicky AI

It's funny though that they genuinely don't realize how strong some champs are because not a lot of people use them. I still see more Titanias and Hulks than Red Goats in BGs even though at r6 he can easily keep up with those two as r3s in terms of speed and when I said this I got disagree spammed too. Ignore the meta gremlins

Oh my god Hulk is such a massive pain. I used to think he was a pushover on defense when he was first buffed but he’s stalled me out so many times. 3/3 inequity and those physical vulnerabilities on you and you’re tickling him. I’ve lost to so many r3 Hulk’s lol. Want him duped ASAP cause then I’d easily value him over all my other sciences

Honestly idk how people struggle with him easy fight with quite a bit of champs (hulkling, Kate, mantis, Shang, cgr, hulk, red guardian, Titania, valk, sunspot, dust, Adam, and silk) all these make him a very easy fight even r3s

Lots of those champs are stalled against him. I’ve used Hulkling and he takes a while because of inequity. If your opponent isn’t running 3/3, he’s not that hard. Mantis and Shang sure because they can prevent his abilities, but he’s annoying with a lot of nukes

If they're running Inequity 3, all those champs will get stalled hard except for CGR, Mantis, Shang, Red Guardian, Sunspot and Hulk. As soon as you get the physical vulnerabilities on you and they have Inequity he turns into a tank and that's what makes him annoying, not his actual abilities.

Not many run inequity 3 even them I’ve never had any issues using these champs against him making it very hard to believe he’s any bit of good on defense

I've watched Andrew (who's won C1 before mind you) lose to a r3 Hulk because of Inequity. I doubt you've faced Inequity 3 r3 Hulks with some of the champs you mentioned cause you absolutely can't nuke with some of thosenif Inequity 3 is at play and he's r3.

Not even a question. Guardian is the better allrounder. His max sig ability is pain for opponent in bgs. Players actually just forget how annoying guardian is without the right counter, and i take the advantage in these cases. Also offensively he's a beast. Finishes off most of the fights with 1 sp1 and sp2, kinda similar amount of time warlock takes
