5* Champs - in the middle of nowhere

This is something I noticed a long time ago. Where are 5* champs now in this state of the game?

Personally, I am a valiant who explored necropolis as soon as it came out. No need to say that (for me) 5* have no use anymore in story / eq /aq / aw / bg… etc.

Okay so let’s look at arena, which I really like to play for milestones (unpopular opinion).

You can not use 5* in the 4* arena

6* featured arena milestones can be done completely with 7* (depending on roaster)

6* basic arena milestones can be done completely with 6*

Let’s look on game starters. I am not an expert here but what I have seen is, that in the early game you skip 5* quite fast due to early 6* acquisition.

So .. what purpose do 5* have for (relatively) progressed summoners? It feels weird that they are exactly in the middle of nowhere and only serve for nostalgia.

Ps. I did not mention ISO because I am referring to the already existing 5*s in our roasters. Opening 5* crystals is a great ISO source but yeah - I have 3,4 Mio shards of them and somehow do not use this source.

What you described is just you ben above 5 star use for you. It wil happen with the 6 star to soner or later it called evolve gameing really. All I do with 5 star now is pop them all the time because I hav a hard times with to many numbers so can’t really safe them i should but can’t

To be fair, new players can now get six stars pretty easily and very quickly. Or at least early into the story mode. If you recall, we did a lot of the hard stuff with four stars and maybe five stars that weren’t even maxed. Nowadays, new players can handle that same content (that’s been nerfed significantly, some of it couple times now,) with 6*champs.
So basically, I would say five stars are not completely irrelevant. They just have a very, very short window in the game.

You're missing the point. We know fewer starts will get outdated, but right now, 5* have the same value as 3*, as Op pointed out, you "can't" even use 5* for arena. We will continue to use 6* at least for arenas as we do 4*, even if 8* are out, not if Kabam change how this things work

You can't use 5* for the Summoner's Trail arena. You can use 5* in both the basic and featured arenas. I agree with the OP that using 5* in the basic and featured is not efficient as 6* and 7* give more points and can complete milestones on both faster. And given the breadth of most high level player's 6* and 7* rosters (not roasters btw... we're not talking chicken), the basic arena milestones can be hit only using 6* and the featured milestones hit only using 7*. But saying 5* can't be used is outright false. He's choosing NOT to use 5*. Which, again, is fine and a valid choice.

So no @Opandemonio, I didn't miss the point. I was making a tongue in cheek statement. As for your statement "We will continue to use 6* at least for arenas as we do 4*, even if 8* are out, not if Kabam change how this things work", more power to you. I'm not stopping you from using whatever level champs you want in arena nor am I telling you who you should be using to run arena. You're a big boy. I trust your arena running decisions.

In regards for 6* to not become irrelevant then introduces ascension. There is nothing for 5*.

A quick win would be to just allow us to use 5* in the summoners trial arena. This would make people happy a bit

I have used 5* sandman nd 5* HT to defeat abs man and iron fist bosses respectively. Basically used him in the most endgame content rn.

Just responding in kind. And not for nothing. Explaining my point of view and how you misinterpreted my first post.

You don't need 5* champs for anything day-to-day but that doesn't make them useless.

Where there are restrictive champion pools for things like Spring of Sorrow milestones (like Cosmic +DoT), you can use appropriate 5* champions if you don't have 6/7* versions.

More importantly, you can use them to have fun in Questing.

As my choice of forum avatar might suggest, I quite like Moon Knight; but clearly until he gets reworked in 2032, he's not actually useful for anything competitive. However, the resources to take a 5* to 5/65 are now sufficiently negligible for me to do that, and have a bit of fun with him in the Skill Thronebreaker EQ, and mercenary quests like Variants.

I've done the same with champs like Goldpool, Thor (Rags), Ghost Rider, and Daredevil HK.

That's what 5* champs are for me: something I can rank up for a bit of fun, without wasting resources I'm more selective about using on higher-ranked champions.

I feel like they gave us that one Variant which used different rarities to prove their point that selling champs was a bad idea, and then they did nothing like that again.

Yes, but also Variants for #Villains, #Heroes, #Mercenaries, etc.

I think they put the same kind of effort into monthly Thronebreaker EQ, and gave up on Variant as not worth their time.
