I'm assuming you haven't played all season. If you're seeing those accounts in gold, they haven't either. Matchmaking isn't broken, just your understanding of how BGs currently works.

This subject has been talked about to death up here, and can contribute to those other threads instead of making new threads about it.

Matching is now only based on what bracket/level (Silver, Gold, Diamond, and 1/2/3/4, etc) you are in.
No matter the relative strengths of the teams.

That over time allows for stronger/better players to rise up to higher ranks than lower players.
