The Victory Track is a ladder, with everyone trying to climb up. At any one moment in time there are stronger players higher up the ladder, and weaker players lower on the ladder. Over time, the strongest players move up, while the weaker ones get left behind.
Right now, the players in Diamond 2 are the players strong enough to have beaten all the other players in Gold and Platinum and Diamond 3. They are much stronger than you. But you are trying to get past them by just throwing yourself at them over and over. If you were strong enough and skilled enough, you might beat them. But it sounds like you aren’t.
The better strategy is to not play 20 matches and use up your Victory shields, and instead look at the calendar. You have six days left in the BG season. Tomorrow, the players in Diamond 2 will be weaker. Why? Because the stronger ones will win and promote to Diamond 1. Every day that passes, every VT tier will tend to get weaker, as the stronger players promote. However strong you are, you reached D2 sooner than most of the players your strength. So you left them behind, but now they aren’t there to match against you. Instead, you’re matching against stronger players. You have to wait for the players same as you to catch up to you in Diamond 2, and for the stronger players you caught up to in Diamond 2 to promote out of Diamond 2.
If you promote upward at the same speed as most of the other players your strength, you will keep matching against them. But if you outrace them, you will leave them behind and catch up to stronger players. And then you will have to face them. That’s just how Battlegrounds works, deliberately so.
